After 23 years working in the recruitment sector, helping people find the right roles and building relationships across the Midlands, I took a sharp turn.

Serving Coventry & Warwickshire

🎨 Painting (fences, sheds, walls)

🌿 Garden TLC (hedges, lawns, shrubs)

🚚 Collections/deliveries (eBay/Gumtree buys)

🛠️ Flat-pack builds

🛏️ Clearance services

✅ One-offs/regular jobs Following a full renovation of my own home, every room, inside and out. I realised just how much I enjoyed the hands-on, practical side of transforming spaces and solving problems. That lightbulb moment led to Vandiman 🚐 🛠️

Now, I offer a reliable, friendly service to people who need a trustworthy pair of hands and a van. Whether it's light removals, collections, deliveries, tip runs, or odd jobs around the house and garden, I bring the same work ethic and care that guided me through two decades in recruitment:

✔️ Do what I say I’ll do
✔️ Be where I say I’ll be
✔️ Get the job done properly

I’m based in Coventry and cover the surrounding Warwickshire area. If you're after someone honest, diligent, and down-to-earth, give Vandiman a shout. Let’s get it sorted.

🌿 Back at a regular customer’s this week, following on from refreshing their fence with a lovely shade of green a few weeks ago.

This time, the attention turned to an unused border that needed a bit of TLC! 🌱

✅ W**ds stripped out
✅ W**d membrane laid
✅ Fresh white gravel topping
✅ Planters tidied up and ready for some planting of their own

A much cleaner, tidier finish and another little corner of the garden looking great again! 👌

It’s always nice to return to a regular customer and keep their garden looking its best.

Got a garden project in mind, whether it’s a little tidy-up or something more involved? Give me a shout!

🎶 “In the jungle, the mighty jungle…” 🌿🦁

Well, I got a bit of a shock this week when I was greeted by this little jungle! 😳🌿

One of this week’s jobs was a BIG garden clearance, tackling a seriously overgrown space and uncovering the patio that had been hiding underneath all that greenery! 💪

As you can see from the before and after photos, it’s amazing what a bit of hard work can uncover!

So, if you’ve got a jungle that needs tackling, or just a garden that’s getting a little out of hand, get in touch.

I’m Dave from Vandiman , your “Handy” Man and Van Solution. 🌱

Sometimes it’s not just about what you take away, it’s about how you do the job! 🚐♻️

Another waste collection sorted, with unwanted furniture, a mattress and other bits loaded up and taken away.

And it’s always nice when a customer takes the time to leave feedback like this:

💬 “Absolutely first class service!”

I’ll take that all day long! 👍

Got unwanted furniture, bulky items or general household clutter you need clearing? Give me a shout!

Happy Monday everyone! 🌳😂

I had a little job at the weekend that had a customer well and truly stumped! 🪵 🥴

Thankfully, I managed to get to the root of the problem and put an end to it! …( 🤣I’m here all week !!)

It might have been a small job, but sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference. 👍

Got a job that’s got you stumped? Give me a shout!

🧠 🔨🪵

Yesterday I breathed a bit of life into an old shed with a few repairs and a couple of licks of paint. 🎨

To be fair, it had been standing there a few years… but not quite as long as today’s Friday Fact! 😂

🇯🇵 Did you know? Hōryū-ji temple in Japan contains some of the oldest surviving wooden buildings in the world, dating back over 1,400 years! 😲

Now that’s what you call standing the test of time 🕰️

Whilst your shed is unlikely to last that long, sometimes a little TLC is all it takes to give it a new lease of life.

Need a hand with your shed, fence, garden or other odd jobs? Give me a shout!

🌧️ Grey skies, grey day… and definitely a day for catching up on a few indoor jobs!

The gardens can wait for the sunshine 🌤️…today it’s time to get stuck into a few of those jobs that are better done with a roof over my head!

Now, where’s my silicone gun? 🛠️

Sometimes less really is more…

Last week I helped a student move his belongings out of storage and into his new student home.

Nothing complicated, just a job that needed doing, and another move completed without the stress. 🚐

And this was the review he left me:

“Really great service, loved the whole process.”

Not many words… but sometimes that’s all you need to say! 😊

If you’ve got something that needs moving, whether it’s one item, a student move, furniture from storage or something a little bigger, give me a shout.

☀️ Something from the weekend …🌿✂️

This hedge was in need of a quick haircut, a few weeds needed removing, and everything was looking a little overgrown.

The customer had been away from home for a few months, so it was lovely to get everything tidied up and looking smart again ready for their return. 🏡

Sometimes it doesn’t take a complete garden makeover to make a real difference…just a bit of time, a tidy-up and some good old-fashioned elbow grease! 💪

If your garden is looking a little wild, or you just haven’t got the time to tackle it yourself, give me a shout.

Happy to help!

📚 Friday Fact time

Did you know…

We’ve reached October this week, ( I’m sure you know that bit 🥴) the 10th month of the year, but its name comes from the Latin word octo, meaning eight! 🤔

That’s because the original Roman calendar had just 10 months, starting with March. January and February were traditionally added around 713 BC, with January eventually becoming the first month of the year.

So September, October, November and December still carry the Latin roots for seven, eight, nine and ten.

The calendar changed, but the names stuck! 📅

Have a great weekend everyone 😀
