From straight lines to a beehive.
 
Catherine Barrat traces a decade of design evolution at - modular public space furniture that’s moved from purely linear forms to organic, geometric shapes offering far more flexibility for designers and local authorities alike.
 
The result: customisable “islands” of varied-height planting and seating that scale from a compact set of four modules right up to 30-module public plazas. At the centre of it all is the hexagon - a shape that creates endless configurations and, fittingly, echoes the buzz and gathering of a real hive.
