Busy sorting these handmade quarry tiles today. Sourced from a country mansion on the Cheshire/Wales border, they are circa 200 years old, 9 inches x 9 inches and 2 inches thick so they are perfect for both inside and out!

Back doing some bits; with social distancing measures in place and being extra careful of course!
Today we were on a vacant site sorting these lovely old (circa 1800) Cheshire hand made bricks as well as Welsh roof slates that have a unique yellow speckle finish, swipe to see!

A very special project - provided the York stone for the restoration of this mill wheel at a private residence (I know right!) in Staffordshire. It has taken a small team of expert restorers over 2 years to complete and the York stone just sets it all off!

On site this evening in an enchanting walled herb garden and marvelling at its beautiful, imperfect window opening. Looks like it may have been part of a (now non existent) gardener’s bothy...or maybe it was created just to capture the view of the surrounding countryside! Either way, it’s decorative, functional and I love it. Particularly like the old stone wall coping.

Supplying the bricks for the restoration of these incredible barns in Staffordshire. The vaulted ceilings are pretty/unique and were certainly not standard for the time period! The light inside is sublime; bouncing around the warm, soft, red brick arches and we can’t wait to see the finished conversion!

These roof tiles collected this afternoon are old! We think (based on the age of the house) they were made in the 17th century, around 1650. The single nib is still fully intact and the characteristic curved profile means they can be reused again on another really old building!
