An arena is a big investment, but even the best surface needs regular maintenance to keep performing at its best.

Over time, riding naturally pushes material towards the edges and corners, while frequently used areas can become deeper, compacted or uneven.

A professional relevel, grade or surface remix can help redistribute material, correct uneven areas and give the whole arena a much-needed refresh.

We offer everything from routine grading through to laser levelling, deep grading, rotavating, fibre remixing and surface top-ups.

A look back at our recent job in Peover, where we brought in the excavator to remove built-up silt from a pond.

Leaves, vegetation, soil and organic material gradually accumulate on the bottom of ponds, reducing their depth and capacity over time.

Removing this build-up can help restore depth, improve water capacity and give an older pond a new lease of life.

Pond clearance is just one of the more specialist groundwork jobs our team can undertake, alongside pond construction, drainage, ditch clearance and general excavation.

🚜🐴 Project Spotlight – High Lane, Poynton 🐴🚜

Recently, we’ve been helping a local contractor with the groundwork for a new equestrian arena in High Lane, just outside Poynton.

Our team assisted with levelling the stone base, making sure everything was prepared accurately and ready for the next stages of the arena build.

We also put our trencher to work, helping with the installation of the land drains to provide effective drainage beneath the arena. 💧

Good drainage and an accurately levelled base are key to creating an arena that performs well and stands the test of time.

October is a great time to make sure your yard, arena, fields and access areas are ready for the months ahead. From improving drainage and tackling muddy gateways to arena maintenance, hard standings and general groundworks, a little preparation now can make a big difference through winter.
