🎥 We thought we’d put together a little time-lapse to show just some of what goes into creating one of our resin bound driveways!

I’ll admit, I’m still pretty useless when it comes to creating content… 🤦‍♂️ I got carried away with the job and completely forgot to film the border installation and stoning up of the sub-base! But you’ll get the idea. 😅

Every driveway we install starts with the groundwork. We don’t just cover over what’s already there.

✅ Full excavation of the existing driveway
✅ Installation of a new geotextile membrane and MOT Type 3 sub-base
✅ New border detail installed on a solid concrete foundation
✅ Machine-laid tarmac base course (or the VubaMac system where specified)
✅ Finished with a beautiful, permeable resin bound surface

It’s the preparation you don’t see that makes the biggest difference to the finished product and ensures your driveway lasts for years to come.

🌡️ A little advice for anyone with a newly laid tarmac driveway…

Did you know that the surface temperature of black tarmac can be 20–30°C hotter than the air temperature on a sunny day?

On warm summer days, while the air temperature might only be 25°C, the surface of your new driveway can easily exceed 50–60°C. At these temperatures, the bitumen within the tarmac becomes softer than normal.

🚗 This is why we always recommend avoiding dry steering on new Installations

Dry steering is when you turn your steering wheel while the vehicle is stationary. On a hot, newly laid driveway, this can:
• Scuff the surface
• Leave tyre marks
• Cause slight surface movement
• Create small indentations under heavy vehicles

✅ The simple solution is to let the vehicle roll slowly while turning the steering wheel rather than turning it on the spot.

This isn’t a fault with the installation—it’s simply the nature of asphalt and affects all newly laid tarmac surfaces, especially during warm weather.

Looking after your new driveway during its early life will help keep it looking its best for years to come.

I’d say it’s well deserved! 💪☀️

After working 7 days a week for the last 4 weeks and grafting through this week’s heatwave, the team decided we all deserved a couple of hours off to recharge.

So we headed down to our local spot, Lake Burwain, for a cool down, a bit of paddleboarding, and finished the day with a cracking BBQ. 🌊🏄🔥🍔

A great way to reward all the hard work, reset, and spend some quality time together. Sometimes a couple of hours away from the job is exactly what’s needed before getting back at it. 👌
