Abstract Landscape by Faith Stewart 25 x 30 cm

Abstract landscape art has a beautiful way of capturing the mood of a changing sky. 🌅✨

If you love contemporary landscape paintings, this new artwork brings the peaceful energy of a vibrant sunrise or sunset right into your space. The sky is washed in soft tones of pink and yellow, giving way to a dramatic row of snowy mountains stretching across the horizon with deep valleys nestled between them.

Using a palette knife, I built up the foreground with rich shades of green to create abstract fields, dense woods, a winding river, paths, and lakes that draw your eye up to the distant mountains. It is a mix of soft light and bold, textured marks.

👉 Does this scene feel more like a quiet sunrise or a peaceful sunset to you? Let me know in the comments!

Abstract Landscape by Faith Stewart

Abstract landscape art doesn't require a flawless start to tell a beautiful story.

If you are a fan of contemporary abstract art, this small 10x20 cm landscape painting proves that a damaged canvas never has to go to waste. Instead of throwing it away, I used it to experiment with a different palette, turning a flawed surface into a dreamlike landscape. This original abstract painting features a soothing palette of soft pinks and greys, contrasted by white fluffy clouds drifting across the canvas. It is a reminder that imperfections can be transformed into something calm and meaningful.

Cruising by Faith Stewart

If you are an art lover who dreams of dramatic landscapes and vintage elegance, this new acrylic on canvas painting is for you.

'Cruising' captures a timeless moment on the deck of a ship, looking out at the breath-taking, snowy mountainous views. Acrylic on canvas, 25 x 30 cm. It features a person viewed from behind, hair up in an elegant chignon, wearing an old-fashioned cream-coloured lace blouse with ruffles down the back, paired with a voluminous dark red skirt and a ribbon belt.

It is a visual journey blending the romance of vintage fashion with the raw majesty of a frozen wilderness.

👉 Which detail catches your eye first—the ruffles, the rich red skirt, or the snowy mountains? Let me know in the comments!

Sakura by Faith Stewart (2025)

This is my original 'Sakura' painting from last year. I have created a number of new versions of this over the last 12 months. Each one is unique due to where the ink goes.

Sakura is the name used for Japanese cherry blossoms and the cherry trees they bloom on. It is a culturally significant symbol in Japan, often associated with the beauty of spring, the fleeting nature of life, and renewal. Cherry blossoms often indicate the end of winter, providing people with feelings of positivity. This postcard painting, was originally created as an idea for a Mother’s Day card, which often depict spring themes. The painting ‘Sakura’ shows a cherry blossom tree overhanging the water, near a small jetty. It utilises aspects taken from both Japanese and Chinese styles of ink painting, with minimalist designs and a splash of colour.

This postcard was also part of the Fronteer Gallery's 'Tree Postcard' exhibition in 2025.

World Inside a Water Droplet by Faith Stewart

Acrylic on canvas 30 x 25 cm

12 months ago I painted a world inside a water droplet, but was never 100% happy with it. I decided to see if, a year on, I could do any better. See my previous reel to see the two side by side.

Sometimes when you're immersed in whatever you are doing, be it art or a project at work etc., it can be difficult to see your progress. If you feel like this, take a step back and look at where you've come from, and you'll be sure to see how you've grown, improved, developed.

This reel shows the creation of my latest world in a raindrop, with a comparison to a previous attempt 12 months ago. Which do you prefer?
