🛠️ FEATURE FRIDAY — MEDIA WALL PLASTERING 🛠️

It’s Feature Friday, and this week we’re showcasing something a little different…

The finish that makes a media wall. 👌

You can have the best TV, the biggest fire and the fanciest lighting — but if the plastering isn’t right, you’ll notice it every single day.

Media walls involve plenty of corners, reveals, recesses and long straight edges, which is why getting the plastering right is so important.

At MW Plastering, we don’t just plaster ordinary walls and ceilings. We also offer:

🔹 Full media wall plastering
🔹 Studwork & bespoke media wall builds
🔹 TV & fire recesses
🔹 Feature shelving
🔹 Acoustic panelling
🔹 Joinery work
🔹 TV hanging & bracket supply
🔹 Coving & skirting finishing

Whether you already have a media wall that needs plastering or you want us to build the whole thing from scratch, we can help.

Good plastering shouldn’t be the first thing you notice — but bad plastering always is.

Another bathroom skimmed out for our friends over at bonds installations. Can’t wait to see the finished outcome.

Does that old ceiling REALLY need ripping down? 🤔

Cracks… tired plaster… dated Artex… uneven finishes…

A lot of homeowners assume the only answer is to pull the entire ceiling down and start again.

Often, it isn’t.

Depending on the condition of the existing ceiling, we can often:

🔨 Secure and prepare the existing ceiling
🏠 Overboard with new plasterboard where required
✨ Apply a fresh plaster finish
👌 Leave you with a smooth, modern ceiling ready for decorating

And if you’ve got old Artex, there are modern plastering methods that can completely transform the appearance without unnecessarily tearing the whole ceiling apart.

Every ceiling is different, so we’ll always assess what you’ve already got and recommend the right solution rather than the biggest job.

At MW Plastering, we’re fully qualified, fully insured and take pride in being clean, tidy and — importantly — actually communicating with our customers.

Got a ceiling that’s seen better days?

📸 Send us a couple of photos and we’ll happily take a look.

Got a very interesting conversation going on, on my personal account. What are people’s views on this?

🤔 SHOULD YOU PLASTER OVER ARTEX?

It’s one of the questions we’re asked all the time.

And the answer is…

Yes — in many cases you absolutely can. 👌

Old Artex ceilings can make an otherwise modern room look dated, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the whole ceiling needs ripping down.

Depending on its condition, we can often prepare the existing surface correctly and skim it to leave a completely smooth, modern finish.

Alternatively, where required, we can overboard the existing ceiling before plastering.

⚠️ One important point: older textured coatings can contain asbestos, so appropriate testing may be required before they’re disturbed.

If you’ve got an old textured ceiling that you’re sick of looking at, send us a photo on Messenger and we’ll tell you what your options are.

🛠️ GOOD PLASTERING SHOULDN’T BE THE BIT YOU NOTICE.

Tuesday morning thought…

When plastering is done properly, you shouldn’t walk into a finished room and think:

“That’s nice plaster.” 😂

You should notice the paint.
The lighting.
The furniture.
The finished room.

Our job is to create the smooth, solid foundation that makes everything afterwards look right.

✔️ Re-skims
✔️ Ceilings
✔️ Artex cover-ups
✔️ Repairs & patching
✔️ Studwork & plasterboarding
✔️ Coving
✔️ Joinery & feature wall work

And just as importantly…

📞 We answer the phone.
💬 We communicate throughout the job.
🧹 We respect your home and leave things tidy.

Because being a good tradesman isn’t only about what happens on the wall.

MW PLASTERING
Professional workmanship. Proper communication. No messing about.
