Another Scouts Out: Para. Tried something different this time layering up from a dark brown base rather than using washes over a mid tone. Lots of control but very time consuming. Denison pattern was applied with very thin glazes of a dark version of the brown and green.

A few small steps further on the Concept Miniatures Para. Blocked in some colour on other elements and after some reflection dialled down the sponged texture with a misting of Iraqi sand and deck tan. Hopefully get on with the flesh tones tomorrow.

Initial steps on my Concept Miniatures Op. Herrick Para. Airbrushed khaki over English uniform, olive brown wash (pic 1) and then reinstated the khaki with a sponge (pic 2) before some sponged highlights with khaki plus deck tan and stippled washes of English uniform, deck tan and Iraqi sand (pic 3).

Next steps will get the non camo elements blocked in and then start on flesh tones.

Feels good to be able to paint again. Not up to full speed but having fun. Of course it helps having something interesting to work on. These are from Flytrap’s last project. Base work just about done and ready for some oil washes and selective highlights.
