Our client sent us this picture of a garden we have just completed and are enjoying the soft lights in the summer nights.

At least it can get us of the screens and a place to breathe.

Now it has stopped raining we have been able to finish off the levelling and start getting the structure of the steel edged paths in what is going to be a naturalistic garden. Cannot wait to see this one finished. Full of wildflowers and really special trees. Wild gardens can still look good.

When you look out at garden furntiure in a british garden who knows what the weather will be. Running in and out with covers or cushions is a real pain. When the sun comes back out after a rain shower you have to go and get a cushion to sit out is a real pain. But what about furntiure that can truely stay outdoors all year round and look amazing no matter the time of the year. Step in a great british brand.

This gorgeous oxleys furniture in a little garden we have done for my dad. Not only is this furntiure stunningly beautiful is is of the highest quality. So comfortable without a cushion (they can come with cushions too). I love this colour too there are other chosen. It really is classic and will not date or rust onto the the pale limestone as some cheaper products will. Worth every penny.

We have been showing the small courtyard portfolio lately but we also design and build larger projects. This was the second project for this client and we love working with clients we already know. Make the process so much fun as we all know each other's preferences and needs.

The pool was designed to over look the horses field where foals are born every year. Just magical place to swim.

'I would love a bigger garden as I would like a garden office, a sandpit for our daughter, a grass space for her too, a sofa to relax on, a table and chairs to eat on, oh and a bike store. There is no way we cqn fit that in our tiny garden'........in step the designers. Great design means you can have it all.

This garden does have all of the above. A fold way dining table, bike store behing the bespoke office but can you spot the sandpit?

Whether it is a tiny courtyard or large estate they all have design challenges. Intelligent design is what we excel in. Not just a cut and paste format to make it look pretty but to make a space that really works.

A new garden showing in our portfolio on our website. This was a dark and unused space and we wanted to work with the clients to create a garden that was inviting to be outside. We wanted both sun and shade areas to sit in. Often people worry about not having lawn in small spaces and that it will not feel like a garden...but we disagree. This garden is a good size with no lawn but luxurious planting softens the paving and soft curves and textures create a relaxed but smart garden. The pergola and pleached trees give a sense of privacy from the surrounding houses and to create dapple shade in an inviting seating zone at the back of the garden.

We are in the final stages of a few gardens.

The finish is all about the details. Clay pavers, porcelain, steel edging and gravel all give interest and detail to the surfaces.

It is so lovely when the final bits go in like furntiure and we are just waiting for the blinds for this pergola. Once the planting matures we will go back and photograph properly.

Another wrap.

We do love a small courtyard in between the larger projects. It is always a joy to transform small spaces and to utilise every part of the garden. Now for the furniture to arrive, the water to bowl to be added for the final touches and the plants to mature of course.

Summer may feel like a long way away but it will come soon enough. Remember the warm long days. We thought we would give a little reminder of thinking of a summer day with water trickling abd the bees buzzing. We all need it on these short grey days.

This is a little something we created along with the amazing for one of our design and buils. This was installed about 4 years ago and we are popping back to sort out a problem with it and have it back up and running soon. We always stay in touch with clients and help out any future issues that may arise. Lucky we do not have many but with the best will it happens. At least our client know we are there for them if something does happen.
