Proud to be sponsoring Vale of Lune RUFC Under 11s this season! 🏉🔴⚪

I managed to get down today for a team photo with the lads.

My nephew plays for the team, so it’s especially nice to be able to support them through South Lakes Fencing.

Grassroots rugby relies on local businesses, volunteers and parents giving their time and support, so it’s great to be able to do our bit.

Good luck to the lads and their coaches for the season ahead!

A few jobs from this week đź‘Ś

A good mix of fencing work completed across the area this week, from decorative timber panels through to a large bespoke gate and post-and-wire fencing. Theses jobs were for 2 separate customers, both wanting to keep their dogs where they needed to be.

Big or small, it’s all about building something properly and leaving the customer with a job that’s made to last.

A big improvement to this garden in Barrow đź‘Ś

The customer wanted to make better use of the existing patio area, so we built a new timber deck over it, extending the usable space out into the garden and adding a full-width step for easy access.

Built from the frame up and finished with treated timber decking.

A much more usable outdoor space — and a good example of the work we do beyond fencing.

This customer in Bowness reached out to us as they’d recently got a puppy and their garden was full of escape routes and steep drops, so we made sure that wasn’t a problem anymore.

A bit more privacy for this customer đź‘Ś

New close-board fencing installed with concrete posts and gravel boards.

With part of the boundary running alongside the highway, we also advised the customer on the permitted fence heights and stepped the fencing down accordingly.

A big improvement and a much more private garden.

Not everything comes off the shelf.

A bespoke job completed by the team this week.

With the existing stone pillars dictating the size of each opening, standard fence panels weren’t going to give the finish we wanted.

So we made them ourselves.

Each panel was individually measured, cut, routed and built to fit, along with a matching bespoke gate to finish the job.

A bit more work involved, but the end result fits the property properly and looks like it was always meant to be there.

If you’ve got an awkward space or want something a little different from standard fencing, we can usually come up with a solution.

We’ve been showing you a lot more than fencing lately… but fencing is still very much our bread and butter.

Front and rear garden completed this week — and a review like this makes the hard work worthwhile.

A bit more than a fence this one!

Really pleased with how this bespoke outdoor space has turned out.

Built in larch, with a large pergola, decking, privacy screening and built-in planters — all designed and built around the existing space.

We don’t just build fencing and gates at South Lakes Fencing. We also take on decking, pergolas and bespoke timber structures for domestic and commercial customers across Cumbria and North Lancashire.

If you’ve got an outdoor space you’d like to make more of, feel free to drop us a message.
