This customer is booked in with us to restore the whole house in 2026, but she was experiencing significant damp pe*******on on this gable due to badly failed mortar.

To protect the property over winter, we carried out a full lime mortar repoint to this section ahead of the main works. The difference speaks for itself. Not just visually, but in restoring the wall’s ability to breathe and shed moisture properly.

This property had been heavily painted over, hiding the original Bath stone and trapping moisture in the façade.

All paint was carefully removed to expose and restore the stonework underneath, allowing the building to breathe again. The front wall was fully transformed and the entire elevation was finished with a traditional lime mortar repoint to match the age and character of the property.

This customer previously had a company remove the render from the front of the property, but the work was left unfinished and not to the standard they needed. They got in touch with us to put it right.

We removed the remaining cement render and cleaned the heavy cement residue from the stone. The centre of the façade had patchwork concrete blocks which we took out and replaced with matching stone. The full frontage was then repointed using a traditional lime mortar. After we completed our part, the customer arranged for lime render around the windows and door to match the rest of the street.

We recently restored the Bath stone on this first-floor flat.
The owner also chose full paint removal across all brickwork, followed by a lime mortar repoint to bring the façade back to how it was intended to look.
The ground floor flat chose not to proceed, which gives a clear comparison of how these Victorian buildings should present when the original materials are exposed and restored properly.

We removed the thick, lead-based paint from the brickwork and carefully raked out all the crumbling mortar. After a thorough clean, everything was repointed in a light lime pointing mix to really show off the natural colour and texture of the bricks. The result is a clean, breathable finish that will last.

Another property brought back to life.
