Friday’s site visit with our next potential build clients went really well. Always good to meet up with brother Dave and to be able to explain to our audience how we build these amazing homes … this is week 6 of the Oakwrights build!!! 💪

Hi all…. Hope you had a great weekend. It was a scorcher here in the UK 🥵🌞

In Essex, we are reaching the super-technical stage of our build for

➡️The M&E team working their magic weaving pipes, cables ducts in and around the timber frame

➡️The carpentry team finessing with details such as the shower niches and arches

➡️ Aeroseal have been in to seal up for maximum air tightness and reduced morning reading from 4.0 to 0.4 ACH, which is a 90% improvement in a single day! Separate post on this to follow later in the week.

And another frame raising begins on our Bedfordshire build..!

Oakwrights laid and levelled the soleplates on Monday.

Frame delivery 1 and the crane turned up yesterday and this much is already built.!!

Testament to the principles of MMC and to the skills and organisation of everyone involved that got us to this stage.

We should have this wrapped and watertight in the next 4-6 weeks but potentially even quicker which is super exciting.

We do love a spring/early summer frame raise 🙌🙌🙌

BIG BIG day today!!!

Our latest full turnkey design and build in Bedfordshire hits a key milestone today…. are making their first delivery to site…! 🎉🎉🎉

The frame design team, encapsulation team, projects teams, workshop teams and site crew have all worked their magic and this frame raise is on the horizon…!

All of a sudden, we have multiple sites on the go again, which is a lot of fun but has taken us away from socials for a bit….

We hope everyone is well and good out there… crazy times to be building at the moment with high demand and volatile markets but we push on!

Big shout out to .tonks and the site teams and all the projects teams, workshop teams and framers for all the hard work and commitment over recent weeks.. 🙌🙌🙌

This phase of the build is exciting but hard!

The teams have slogged hard on this amazing build for and at times, it’s been almost too hard.

The weather has been against the teams throughout and being a spring pond site,.. it’s WET!

We now need to regain the focus and progress into the crafting phase of this magnificent home for our lovely clients. We need to recall the original intent and then visualise, visualise, visualise! (thanks to AI, we get to do that even better nowadays)

Let’s all pray for dry weather.. lots of it please, so that we can get this wrapped and ready for family adventures!!

I can honestly say that Dave and I must be amongst the most privileged people working out in this industry right now and we are truly blessed. We get to design and then craft the most amazing homes for the most lovely clients, working with the best teams in the UK.

We get to spend days, if not weeks, making one decision. We get to design the very finest of details about how one material interacts with another. We get to use the very best materials installed by craftspeople not ‘just’ tradies or builders.

We do not do “that’ll do” or “the client will never know”… we craft with pride and honour and we respect our clients implicitly.

All too often builders get lost in the process and they forget the vision. They forget to stand back and take a look, ….revisit the designers vision, again and again and again. Do not forget the designer as without them, the project would not exist. This is not an ego thing,.. it’s a spiritual thing.

Massive shout out to all the teams that have got us this far on a very exciting chapter of our Essex build using the amazing frame and panel system from our long established partners

Joinery from looking just perfect, the carpentry, rendering and roofing teams are absolute artists and we are loving the bricks .blitz.3 and

Scaffold is coming down next week!!!

Now that demolition is complete at our next build in Bedfordshire, it was a Saturday site meet up for Dave and the site ops team today as we GPS locate the slab positions for the amazing house and cartlodge garage we are just about to craft together for our clients.

2026 kicked off with a bang as we start another amazing build for some really lovely clients,… this time in our home county of Bedfordshire!

Dave and the site teams have been disconnecting and reconnecting electric and water and demolition of the ‘past it’s sell by date’ bungalow and garage is well underway. The structure and services were not really up to renovation and the creation of a super eco oak framed home in its place, represents sustainable and responsible architecture and housing provision. We will be integrating the scheme with solar PV, rainwater harvesting, ground source heating and the super insulated yet breathable panel encapsulation system from our trusted partners over at .

Design and planning was all taken care of by Pete together with his team of specialists and this is going to be an amazing home set on a site of 3 acres with near 360 degree views…
