The first of two roof structures that will ultimately receive a Sika single-ply membrane is now complete and ready for the next stage.

With the deck installed and the detailing taking shape, it's another step closer to creating a fully weatherproof building envelope. As always, the quality of the preparation at this stage is just as important as the finished roof itself.

This flat roof is the first of the pair. Next up is the curved roof structure, which will bring a whole new level of complexity and craftsmanship to the project. Looking forward to seeing that one come together.

With temperatures rising this week, today's site briefing focused on heat exposure and keeping everyone safe while working in extreme conditions.

A great milestone on our Norfolk project as the team at C-Eco install the Pavatex woodfibre roof insulation.

Woodfibre insulation offers a number of benefits over more traditional insulation products:
✅ Excellent thermal performance, helping to reduce heating and cooling demands.
✅ Outstanding thermal mass, slowing the transfer of heat through the roof and helping to keep buildings cooler during the summer months.
✅ Vapour open and breathable, allowing moisture to move through the construction and supporting healthier building fabric.
✅ Made from natural, renewable wood fibres with a significantly lower embodied carbon footprint than many conventional insulation materials.

As Project Manager at Armett Construction & Living Solutions, no two days are ever the same on a project like Marl House.

One minute we're reviewing window junction details, the next we're coordinating electrical installations, discussing specialist finishes, managing deliveries or solving challenges that arise on site.

With so many moving parts, decisions often need to be made quickly and confidently, always keeping quality, programme and budget in mind.

Marl House - Friday on Site.
It's been another busy and productive week on site, with plenty of progress made and several key milestones ticked off along the way.

It has been great to see the project continue to take shape. The attention to detail, planning and teamwork behind every stage are what keep our projects on track and moving forward.

Marl House Milestone - Timber Frame Progress.

It's incredible how quickly a project can move once the right preparation is in place.

Since the arrival of the NUR-HOLZ timber frame, Marl House has transformed at an impressive pace.

Manufactured from solid timber and connected using patented wooden dowels rather than glue or metal fixings, the system enables fast and accurate installation while maintaining exceptional performance and sustainability credentials. The frame was installed by the fantastic team at king_and_company.

Marl House Milestone - Timber Frame Arrival.

After months of planning and coordination, the timber frame for Marl House has arrived on site from Germany.

Manufactured by -HOLZ and imported through , this innovative solid timber system is a fantastic example of modern sustainable construction.

Unlike conventional timber systems, NUR-HOLZ uses patented timber dowels rather than glue or metal fixings to create a high-performance, natural building structure.

Seeing months of planning finally arrive on site is always a special moment, and we're looking forward to watching the building take shape over the coming weeks.
