Our Origin Story 🔨
M. J. Salmon & Son was established 49 years ago in 1977 by Mick—the patriarch of M. J. Salmon & Son, fondly known as "The General" (which is why, if you look closely, you’ll spot four stars on his blue van!) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ At 78, Mick is still hard at work and well-loved by everyone he meets.
His son Matt—known by many for his distinctive hats (and bad jokes!) —followed Mick into the family business, working hard to build M. J. Salmon & Son into what it is today 🪚
Mick's grandson, Alfie, also carried on the trade as part of our third generation, spending valuable time learning the ropes alongside his dad and grandad on-site.
For three generations, M. J. Salmon & Son has been proud to deliver quality craftsmanship across Histon and Cambridge. Over the decades, we’ve worked alongside many great fellow tradesmen and served countless wonderful clients who return to us time and again— a testament to the care and quality we strive to put into every project 🏡
