Saer Architects North Wales and North West Based Architectural Practice

šŸŽ‰ Saer Architects is 5 years old! šŸŽ‰
Ā
What an incredible journey it’s been so far.
Ā
Five years ago, David and Gethin started Saer Architects working from their own homes. Fast forward five years and we’re now a team of nine, working across two offices in Conwy and Chester, delivering a diverse range of projects throughout North Wales and North West England.
Ā
From education and affordable housing to community and commercial developments, we’ve had the privilege of working with fantastic clients to help turn ambitious ideas into buildings and places that make a real difference to the people who use them. Our projects range from simple domestic extensions through to a Ā£14 million mixed-use town centre development, and every one has played a part in shaping the practice we are today.
Ā
As the practice has grown, so has our team and the breadth of work we undertake. Opening our Conwy office in 2022, followed by our Chester office in 2025, has enabled us to expand our reach while staying true to the collaborative, approachable ethos the practice was founded on. Both our landlords have supported our growth by allowing us to move into larger offices within the same buildings as we’ve expanded. In fact, we’ve decorated five different offices in just five years!
Ā
Looking back, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together—from seeing our first projects completed, to growing a talented team and building lasting relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
Ā
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last five years, particularly our clients who have placed their trust in us, our collaborators who have helped bring projects to life, and our brilliant team whose hard work, creativity and enthusiasm make Saer Architects what it is.
Ā
We’re excited for what the future holds. Here’s to the next five years! šŸ„‚

Last week, our team attended the RSAW Summer Conference 2026, Architecture of Care, held in Portmeirion.
Ā
The conference provided a valuable opportunity to explore how thoughtful design can support dignity, wellbeing and stronger communities, with a programme of insightful talks and discussions centred on the role of architecture in creating more inclusive places.
Ā
Thank you to RSAW and all of the speakers for an inspiring and thought-provoking day.

We were delighted to celebrate the successful handover of Ysgol Ein Harglwyddes earlier this week. This fantastic new £7.7 million primary school will provide a modern Catholic education for pupils from Bangor and the surrounding area.
Ā
Designed to achieve Net Zero Carbon in operation, the building also meets the Welsh Government’s embodied carbon targets, creating a highly sustainable learning environment for future generations.
Ā
The design takes inspiration from the historic red-brick Victorian building that once stood on the site, reinterpreting its character in a contemporary way while providing bright, spacious classrooms filled with natural light and fresh air.
Ā
We look forward to seeing the building come to life when pupils and staff move in for the start of the new academic year, and wish the whole school community every success in their new home.

We are delighted to have been involved in the proposals for the new Llandudno Junction Family Centre for Conwy County Borough Council, which has recently been submitted for planning approval.

Designed to create a welcoming, accessible and supportive environment for local families, the two-storey scheme will provide a range of new facilities for wider community use, alongside office and meeting space for the relevant support services, helping to support the local community for years to come.

It has been a rewarding project to be part of, and we look forward to seeing the scheme progress.

We’re pleased to share that our affordable housing scheme in Llanystumdwy, in partnership with Cyngor Gwynedd, has received planning consent and is progressing towards construction.

Situated along Maes Llwyd, the development will deliver a mix of 2- and 3-bedroom dormer bungalows, designed to sit comfortably within the existing streetscape.

As part of the Council’s Ty Gwynedd initiative, the scheme reflects a vision of high-quality, contextual design that is sympathetic to its setting, while supporting the key drivers of affordability, adaptability, sustainability, energy efficiency and health.

Looking forward to seeing this project progress on site! šŸ
