This week we’ve been replacing an old ideal icos system boiler with a new shiny Worcester Bosch 4000 system boiler.

After 11 years with another manufacturer, this is my first Worcester Bosch installation, I must say I’m highly impressed with the quality of the product, but I expected that with them being market leader.

The customer now has a wonderful new boiler that is very robust, extremely efficient, and comes with best in class customer support. Add to that a 10 year parts and labour warranty, and the customer now has a fantastic new boiler, and peace of mind for 10 years.

A little look at the underfloor heating we installed last week, customer had the conservatory removed and an orangery constructed. It was a challenge ducting and sleeving the pipe across the patio, but we did it. Screed goes down Wednesday, so still a few weeks before the customer can enjoy a warm floor. But the hard part is done 👍

It’s been a busy start to the week. Yet another boiler in need of replacement. My father fitted the old boiler 21 years ago, and has been serviced throughout its life by ourselves. Unfortunately after 21 years the main heat exchanger cracked and so along with the homeowner we came to the decision it was time for a new one. They now have a nice shiny new Intergas Heating UK Hre 30sb, highly efficient, incredibly quiet, extremely reliable, and with 12 years warranty on the heat exchanger and 9 years on all other parts, you’re guaranteed a decade of trouble free heating, but I expect this boiler to do at least 20 years just like its predecessor 👌 we also replaced a rusty towel rail, and have installed them a British Gas hive thermostat, so they have complete control over their heating from anywhere in the world. Another job finished, another happy customer.

It’s been a bit of a challenge doing this one, from being stuck in the floor void, to having to create a flue hole in the roof, but as usual we got there. Out with the old decrepit Powermax boiler, and in with a shiny new Intergas Heating UK HRE Combi, as always, it has an Intergas system filter so the customer gets an additional 2 years on top of an already great warranty.

Another boiler replacement last week. This old halstead has served its time. Now for a shiny new Intergas Heating UK HRE combi. 10 years warranty on the heat exchanger, 7 years on all other parts. Boosted by an additional 2 years because we fitted an Intergas system filter. A decade of trouble free heating on its way to our customer. 👌🏻

Please make sure you have your boiler serviced annually. So many issues I come across at this time of year are due to a lack of maintenance. Keep them regularly serviced and you’re much less likely to find yourself stuck with no heating/hot water when you need it most.

Replacing this 25+ year old boiler this week. Lovely new Intergas Heating UK HRE, with 10 year warranty, to be taking its place. We will also be fitting an Intergas system filter, increasing the warranty to 12 years on the heat exchanger, and 9 years on all other parts.

Several other bits to replace. The system has no thermostats on the radiators, so we’ll be fitting them to help give greater room to room temperature control. We will fit a new pump, new zone valves, pipe in boiler waste, fit new digital, economical and very user friendly heating controls. Finally we will give the system a thorough clean, using a powerflush machine before adding corrosion inhibitor to help keep the system in top shape internally.
