Completed this week on a period property in Buckingham for our regular clients.
Walls and the ceiling were in a rough condition after the lining paper was removed, our client chose to have the ceiling relined due to the potential for movement in the traditional lath and plaster but wanted to avoid further lining paper as much as possible, which we were happy to accommodate (we aren't fans of lining paper in general, preferring to fix a problem rather than cover it).
Walls and ceilings were given a thorough sanding utilising our dustless sanding system to minimise particles spreading through the property. Surfaces were then mist coated to prepare them and help highlight areas that required further attention. These areas were then filled and sanded to repair cracks, dents and other surface imperfections.
The ceiling was then lined with Wallrock Fibreliner Ultracover 210, a fantastic heavy but flexible paper that reinforces surfaces but remains completely breathable.
The walls were then given a second mist coat and again filled and sanded to remove any final imperfections ready for decoration.
Above the picture rail and the ceiling were decorated in Farrow and Ball, the Walls in Edward Bulmer natural paints, all supplied by our client.
Large sections of the skirting board were reinstalled, including a rather fun curved section in the bay window using flexible skirting boards. All woodwork was then sanded, filled, caulked and prepared for decoration.
Woodwork was primed and finished off with multiple coats of Farrow and Ball, again client supplied.
All products used are breathable to allow moisture to move freely through the traditional lime plaster and stop damp issues.
My thanks as ever to our wonderful clients for their continued support and an interesting project ❤️
