🎧 Bought the Sony Walkman I always wanted as a kid. Then went crazy and connected my AirFly SE and QC35 II And now have a Bluetooth cassette player 😜 So think this is what .unitedkingdom has in mind, but I'm loving it!

🔥 Since moving in 3+ years ago, we've had this awkward space that has had dead trees, a decaying windy house and general rubbish pile. After a bit of landscaping, clearing trees, bushes and rubbish, followed by laying additional slate, levelling it out then setting some spare tiles onto old pavers, we have a new fire pit area!

A lot of this was stuff we had. The sleepers had been in that area sitting around for years, the bigger slate chippings were already in place and we had the furniture. Added some string lights and treated ourselves to a new to complete the area. Really pleased with the outcome and the snuggly nights around the fire to come!

🔥🪵 Plans changed and had some free time in the shop. Ticked a chore off the To-Do list and make a quick log storage for next to the fire place.

Used some spare scaffolding board that's been sitting around for ages. Bit of a sand, but wanted to keep the natural patina as entact as possible. Fits perfectly, looks much better than everything shoved in the corner.

🧰 Pretty chuffed to get a sweet new workbench setup! The tools, as you can see, are all Quality, so can't wait to see what projects I can bang out on this baby. Thanks Santa 🎅🏼!

🍁 Left side of the deck leads back to the treehouse and play area for the kids. Having used way more hardwood chips and less paving stones on the right side, I decided to use about 50% more paving stones this time around.

⛩️ Next will be the three gates that will go up from the front of the stones to give it a more enticing entrance and pathway to the back area. Once those are in the ground and up, the woodchip will fill in the gaps.

🛹 One of the things I'm keen to make more of is bespoke products that I can sell regularly. This is the first iteration, and by no means the finished product, of a new product born out of necessity.

🌟 Looking forward to refining this design and getting it ready for sale on my Etsy shop. Few products in there now, so have a look!

🪑 Two projects coming together. Managed to get the slats up behind the left bench without the need for any screws or rear bracing. Still quite tempted to paint the slats burnt orange to tie in with other areas where we've used the burnt orange. Should I do it?

🧹Is it done? Is it perfect? No.
Is it started? Yes. Plan for the next few months is to build up, improve, optimise, and streamline the shop.

Have some big projects to do in 2023, so want to be geared up and ready. Shop improvements, a good clean up and all the boring tedious bits will finally be the focus!

🪚 Have I actually started a new project?! Yes! And I nearly finished it. Bit of time tomorrow and it'll be done.

Not sure what grinds on me more, dull white Ikea furniture or assembling it. We'll think I cured both those issues courtesy of 3.25mm thick birch plywood I had going unused.

Cut and wrapped these two (kitchen) units on the outer and visible edges to give a more contemporary look. Makes the space feel warmer and looks great!

🪵 Have the week off so it's time to get in that honeydo list. First job was clearing the old wood that was not reusable from the old treehouse.

🪚 Have to say that my DCS570 made easy work of the pile! Now we've got loads of firewood for the rest of summer and into winter.
