A bit of a sad but reflective day today…
This magazine was on my desk this morning, and it reminded me that this is the very last issue that will be worked on by our friend (and in Lisa’s case, ex-colleague) David Wiggins, as he retires from Machinery Market and the machine tool industry today.
An industry-wide known ad man, David became a co-owner of the magazine a few years ago, where he looked after us very well indeed.
I first met David when he was the Marketing Director at Cincinnati Milacron in the late 1990s. I then became a customer of his when I joined Hardinge Bridgeport in the very early 2000s and he joined Machinery Market. I’ve been a customer and friend of his ever since.
He is the ultimate professional—dedicated, honest, passionate, and incredibly supportive and confidential. He helped us launch brands whilst at Hardinge, and then again for our two businesses here in Bristol when we decided to go it alone.
So David, thank you. It’s been a real pleasure working with you for these past 30 years! We’ll miss you, but at least we can now concentrate on dinners, fine wines, and the odd cricket grudge match, where you can tell us some of your hilariously funny travelling stories!
Enjoy this next chapter, but keep in touch… much love from us all at Machine Tool Sales Online, MACH Machine Tools, and of course, the whole of the Andrew family. x
