An important step in managing water and protecting the property before the render is re-applied.

The foundations are so important in the work we do.

More progress to come.. 👀⏳

A few snaps from our recent trip to Portugal ✈️

It was great to take some time away from the tools, enjoy the sunshine, and recharge before getting stuck back into work.

Now it’s back to the job, but we’re definitely missing these views 🌊

We’ve had so many emails recently related to flakey render, or render peeling off houses within the first 5 years of the work being completed.

It’s SO important we address this to help you save lots of money in the long term.

Usually the symptoms of your render peeling/flaking off is due to poor installation, trapped moisture, or the wrong materials initially used.

It usually isn’t the render that’s the problem. In most cases, the issue comes down to how it was installed.

At a high level:
1. Moisture gets trapped behind the render: If water can’t escape, pressure builds up behind the surface, causing the render to bubble, blister, or eventually flake away.

2. Poor surface preparation: If the wall wasn’t cleaned, repaired, or primed correctly before rendering, the new render won’t bond properly and can begin to fail much sooner than expected.

3. The wrong materials were used: Not every render is suitable for every property. Using the wrong system or low-quality products can lead to cracking, bubbling, and premature failure. (Even if the house looks great once finished!).

4. Corners were cut during installation: Skipping reinforcement mesh, applying coats too thickly, or not allowing enough curing time can all shorten the lifespan of the render.

We are SO passionate about these things as it not only saves home owners thousands and thousands over the years, it also actually enables the property to look fantastic for many years.

Anyone that has worked with us knows that there is a reason our jobs often take longer to complete (allowing walls to be prepped, dry, and perfect to render), in addition to costing slightly more than competitors because we ONLY use top quality products (products that will allow your house to look stunning for the duration of your life).

Every job we complete we ensure our customers are fully informed of timelines, progress, materials used, and give honest advice on what their house actually needs.

If you’re thinking about rendering your property, please make sure the right materials and installation methods are used from the start. 💚

📍 Out of Office

James and Neil spent the day last week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the UK's most iconic celebrations of motorsport and automotive innovation.

Held in the stunning grounds of Goodwood House, the Festival brings together world-class motorsport, Formula 1, legendary racing machines, exciting vehicle debuts and some of the biggest names in the industry.

It was a fantastic opportunity to explore the latest innovations, and meet new people. We we're lucky enough to meet Ernie Pieterse at the event this year.

Our favourite out of office each year. 💚

We're making great progress on this front bay rebuild, and we're now at the halfway stage of the project. 💚

Using lime render helps older properties breathe naturally, allowing moisture to escape while protecting the building's original structure and character.

It's a time-tested material that provides both durability and a beautiful finish when applied with care.

We can't wait to share the completed transformation soon.

Stay tuned for the final result! ✨

We're excited about this one 👀🤩

We've just started on this beautiful home in Redland, Bristol.

We're currently carrying out a full hack-off of the existing cement render before transforming this property with:

✔ New fascias
✔ New gutters and downpipes
✔ A French drain installation
✔ Breathable lime render finish

By removing the old cement render and replacing it with traditional lime render, it'll help protect the property, improve it's appearance, and allow the walls to breathe naturally long term.

Stay tuned as we share the transformation from start to finish soon. 💚
