A pool cover should do more than just cover the pool.
For this beautiful South Gloucestershire pool, the owners chose a fully automatic Coverseal cover — combining clean, contemporary design with practical benefits that make a real difference.

With around 60–70% of pool heat loss occurring through evaporation, a quality cover can significantly reduce heat and water loss, helping to lower running costs and the pool’s environmental impact. It also helps keep the water cleaner, warmer and healthier, while reducing algae growth.

And then there’s the design. This Coverseal sits beautifully within the space, with remote operation allowing the pool to be opened or secured in under a minute. With a wide choice of colours and finishes, the result can be tailored to complement the pool and its surroundings.

🌿 From Winter Dig-Out to Crystal-Clear Luxury
What a transformation! 💦✨
Our latest swimming pool project has come a long way — from breaking ground in the depths of winter to a nearly finished, spectacular pool nestled in the grounds of a beautiful Grade II listed barn, surrounded by stunning rural views.
🏗️ Then: The initial excavation and first pour of concrete marked the beginning of the build.
🌊 Now: Just a few months later, the pool is filled and the water is remains beautifully clear and sparkling, despite still awaiting its cover, thanks to its natural, low-chemical filtration system.
🐸 And it seems we're not the only ones impressed… Mr Toady couldn't resist taking a dip! You’ll be pleased to know he was gently relocated — the owners have a very firm “No Trespassing” policy! 😂
The final piece of the puzzle is almost here, with the integral pool cover pit prepared and waiting for the cover to arrive. Once installed, we'll be ready for the final reveal.
This has been a fantastic transformation, and we think you'll agree — this is one spectacular pool build. 🤩

Choosing the right pool isn’t just about size. It’s about how you want to use it, how it fits your garden, and the impact it has on your budget and build.

That means moving from a 5m swimjet pool to a 20m lap pool can involve around 8 times more spoil and 11 additional truck movements.
Traditional pool or Swimjet?
A 20m pool gives you the space to swim naturally and practise proper turns — but it also requires a much larger footprint, more excavation and greater site access.
A smaller pool with a modern swimjet system can give you an endless swimming experience in a fraction of the space, making it ideal for fitness, relaxation and gardens where space is limited.
And remember: the pool should work with your garden, not dominate it. Ideally, your pool and surrounding relaxation area should take up less than around 40% of your usable garden space.

One of our earliest natural swimming ponds, revisited.
It’s always special to return to an early project and see how it has matured. The planting has fully established, creating a thriving, balanced ecosystem that’s now alive with wildlife—buzzing, darting, and flourishing all around.
