Got 5,000 tonnes of "muck" to get off site?

We can book the wagons.

But that’s probably not the first question we’re going to ask.

What is it?
Has it actually been tested and classified properly?
Does all of it need to leave site?
Can some of it be reused?
Could segregation or treatment give you another option?

Sending 5,000 tonnes off site is easy. Sending it to the right place, under the right waste code, at the right price - while looking for opportunities to reduce what leaves site in the first place - takes a bit more thought.

That’s the difference between doing muck away and expert soil & waste management.

At UK Remediation, we’ve got waste specialists, in-house chemists and soil remediation teams looking at the same problem and finding the most appropriate solution for your project - technically sound, commercially sensible and tailored to what you actually need.

So, if the testing isn’t right, we’ll tell you.

If we think you’re about to unnecessarily send non-hazardous soil as hazardous, we’ll tell you.

If there’s an opportunity to segregate, treat or reuse material rather than pay to dispose of it, we’ll look at that too.

And if it genuinely just needs to go - we’ll get it gone.

That’s why we’re more than just a "muck away" business.

No two sites are the same

… and neither are the solutions.

Understanding what you're dealing with is the first step towards finding the right solution (and saving £££) – whether that be treatment, reuse or non-landfill disposal.

This is where site investigation and testing come in.

Our experienced team carries out representative soil sampling, arranges laboratory testing and assesses the results to help determine the most appropriate solution for your materials.

500,000+ tonnes diverted from landfill.

That’s how much soil we’ve cleaned up and treated at our facilities, keeping it out of landfill and helping bring brownfield sites back into safe, sustainable use.

Clean and well-managed ground helps protect water resources, supports biodiversity and enables the regeneration of brownfield land rather than placing further pressure on greenfield sites.

A big number, with a big impact.

All treated at our Devon and Cornwall Treatment Facilities.

What happens when a load arrives at our Cornwall site?

Every load entering our facility is subject to a controlled acceptance process.

The load arrives over the weighbridge, where data is recorded and relevant documentation is checked and completed.

Following acceptance, the material is placed in a designated quarantine bay, where post-acceptance sampling is undertaken and submitted.

Once results confirm the material is suitable, our technical team can determine the most appropriate treatment and recovery route.

A robust, controlled and fully traceable process ensuring materials are managed responsibly and compliantly, showing our clients full transparency of our treatment process.

Why Local Treatment Matters.

When it comes to contaminated soils, distance matters.

Treating materials closer to where they’re generated can help reduce unnecessary haulage affects, as well as keeping valuable resources within the local economy.

At UK Remediation, our regional treatment facilities provide local and practical solutions for managing challenging materials – with sustainability at the heart of what we do.

Less waste. Fewer miles. More recovery.

On Sunday, three of our brave employees took on the Bristol 10K and Half Marathon in support of 1625 Independent People - a fantastic charity helping young people at risk of homelessness.

We’re incredibly proud of their achievement and grateful to everyone that has donated - it means a lot.

There is still time to help us reach our target 👇🏼
