Has your home survey flagged concerns about the roof – or are you simply not sure when it was last properly inspected?

A roof survey from Tate Surveying gives you a clear, independent view of your roof's condition. We use drone technology to inspect areas that are difficult or unsafe to reach from the ground, so you get more detail without the scaffolding costs.

We cover Sussex and the South East. Get in touch to find out more or request a quote.

The winter isn't far away. Have you prepared your home for the weather to come?

Here are 5 things to check this weekend:

1️⃣Look at any trees near your home and see if they have any dead, damaged or overhanging branches. If they do, or if they look unhealthy in any other way, call a tree surgeon.

2️⃣Inspect your roof (from ground level) to make sure no tiles are missing or out of place. If you can see the lead flashing around your chimney stacks, make sure this looks in good order. A small leak can become a big problem over the winter season.

3️⃣Clear your gutters, downpipes and drains to ensure rainwater is directed into the drains, not onto your walls or foundations.

4️⃣Check there aren't any obvious cracks or damage to your brickwork. If water gets in and then freezes it can cause a much bigger problem.

5️⃣Make sure any exposed pipes are lagged (insulated) particularly in your roof and outdoors. Just in case, ensure everyone in the house knows how to isolate the water supply.

Should you find an issue, or need a closer inspection to put your mind at rest, we offer a range of surveys for homeowners including:
🔎Roof
🔎Damp
🔎Tree roots
🔎Cracks
🔎General defect diagnosis

Are you planning a loft conversion, extension or basement? Before you book the builders, there's something that trips up homeowners all the time – and it's not planning permission.

We've put together the complete guide to party walls, covering every aspect of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, from what triggers it and how to serve notice, to what a Party Wall Award contains and who pays for it all.
