Just having a little wander around my garden & I was struck by the colour contrast of the asters & calendula. Also the bright blue of last few vipers bugloss flowers in the background. Beautiful.

Lovely combination & all beneficial for insects & pollinators ... Linaria purpurea (purple toadflax) in the middle, Verbena bonariensis to the left & Echium vulgare (vipers bugloss) to the right

Todays gardening delight ...

I popped to the loo at a very lovely customers house earlier, & noticed there was something on my back in the mirror ... it was this beautiful big moth!
Lovely customer & I were very excited as we'd not seen one before. They did an internet search & identified the beauty as an Eyed hawk moth 💜

This little beauty is dining at my jostaberry cafe. Helpfully they munch on small insects & not the berries 😁

From Knepp Wilding page ...

It’s National Gardening Week and we’re celebrating curiosity!

We’re… exploring new plants, trying to be laid back when they get nibbled, dabbling with agroforestry from seed, experimenting with climbing veg, listening out for singing birds like garden warblers and green finches, and sharing it all with the curious people who come to visit.

Find out more – join us on a tour or workshop of Knepp’s Rewilding Walled Garden or Market Garden.
