Smaller tree this time in Exeter. Will look great in the Spring and let more light into the garden.

Have a guess what we are going to be doing? Starting next week giving up a week of our time to help a lovely family. Well worth it. Will let you all know more when we can.

Well, I have been absolutely rubbish at putting posts on! We both remember the 'before and after' photos after we have finished!

We had a great day in Ottery St Mary last week, thanks to all involved at the church. It will give the churches neighbours some more light as well.

In Newton Poppleford, we pollarded a tree in someones garden and found a Palm tree in the process!! A quick tidy of the Palm so that it could join the party. This also allowed the fig to take centre stage as well. Again, more light into the garden and changed the focus to the fig. So, more light in the house and garden, change of perspective in the view from the house all done by trimming one tree.

Some jobs are simple but can make a big difference. We removed a palm tree and trimmed a Bay that was getting as tall as the palm and the the amount of light this let into the house was amazing.

Before you ask, no we didnt do this! This is a tree in Hyde Park that had died and was due to be cut down. The artist Giuseppe Penone then treated it to the Japenese art of Kintsugi.

The point here is, just because your tree has died, it doesnt mean that its value as a feature has ended. We can turn your old dead trees into almost anything you want (maybe not a Rolls Royce or a pile of cash).

So, before you get someone in to turn your old dead tree into firewood, give us a call and explore the options like a seat, a bear, the Shard or indeed something the Kintsugi style.

Not the biggest of jobs but the end product was very satisfying. A simple short back and sides on your garden tree can transform it into a proper feature. So go on, do your tree a favour and show it some love!

This is our chipper after some TLC. It is a 1968 Kemp shredder/chipper still in great working condition having been completely stripped down and rebuilt. The original Briggs and Stratton petrol engine has been replaced by a Sumac diesel running on 100% home made certified biofuel. Just another way that we aim to reduce our carbon footprint where we can.
