What started as a repair to a few loose slabs and some failed pointing has turned into lifting the majority of the patio.

Once we started, we found none of the slabs had been slurry primed, meaning there was nothing bonding them to the mortar bed.

A frustrating situation for the customer and a good reminder that with any patio, the work you can’t see is just as important as the finished result.

Hopefully once we’re done, this one will be back as it should be 👍

5K done before work this morning 🏃‍♂️

I set myself this challenge to push myself, stay disciplined and show up every single day, no matter what.

Some days will be easier than others, but the aim stays the same — get up, get it done and move on to the next one.

October is nearly here, which means I’m about to take on 5K every single day for the whole month for Prostate United, raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

Another job completed for Core Construction of Bath Ltd at Conkwell Grange 👌

Alterations to this four-bay garage, replacing the original oak piers with new steel supports.

We installed the steels, built the blockwork around them and finished them in natural stone, completely hiding the steelwork and keeping everything in character with the existing building.

Really pleased with how these turned out 🧱👌

Plenty of setting out, cutting and attention to detail to get this one flowing nicely.

Stage 1 complete at Conkwell Grange 👌

A lot of setting out, measuring and cutting went into creating this radius paving area, making sure everything followed the curve and came together neatly.

Really happy with how the shape has turned out and how well the natural stone works with the surroundings.

Stage 1 done — plenty more to come 🧱👌

31 days. 31 runs. 155km. On top of a month on the tools… what could possibly go wrong? 😂

A slightly different post from our usual brickwork and stonework today 🧱

Throughout October, once the trowel goes down for the day, the running shoes are going on. I’ll be running 5K every single day to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK 💙

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men, so it’s a cause that could touch any of our families, friends, customers or fellow trades.
