Project Update: Day 2 of our latest Tesla Powerwall 3 & Solar PV installation ⚡

A high-performance energy system requires absolute precision from the ground up (literally.)

On Day 2, our phone battery might have gone flat - but our team definitely weren’t! Day 2 we split focus between the technical electrical work in the garage and setting up the mounting system on the roof.

🔋 The Electrical Infrastructure: The Tesla Gateway is officially mounted and configured. It houses the main incoming fuse, full system isolators for backup functionality, and two independent sets of DC surge protection (one for each solar string).

🧗 The Structural Roofing: Up on the roof, we have been setting up the mounting system. To ensure absolute structural integrity, we are meticulously grinding out the tiles so the heavy-duty roof hooks seat completely flush. This avoids any tile lifting and guarantees a weather-tight finish before the rails, panels, and bird guards go on.

🔌 Integration & Next Steps: With the roofing work wrapping up, the next phase is connecting the property's main power through the gateway. Once that is complete, we will move straight into string testing and full system commissioning.

Inside a Tesla Powerwall 3 installation: A look at our process. ⚡

A successful solar and storage installation comes down to meticulous planning, neat cable management, and proper safety infrastructure right from the start. Here is a quick look behind the scenes at how our team is setting up this high-performance system for maximum reliability.

The plan for this project includes:

Strategic Placement: Mounting the Tesla gateway and the Powerwall 3 unit in designated positions for optimal performance.

Advanced Electrical Infrastructure: Integrating DC surge protection, full system isolations, and a dedicated earth rod to safely support full backup functionality during an outage.

Seamless PV Integration: Because the Powerwall 3 accepts solar PV input directly, our team is cleanly routing the PV cabling through the garage and into the loft void, leading straight to the roof.
