Project Update: Project Whitewash

We are back on site in Maidenhead and making fast progress on Project Whitewash.

Outside, the team has dug and poured new foundations by the garage, taken down the top half of the front gable elevation for the extension, and started brickwork for the new bay window openings.

Inside, rip-out works are moving along smoothly with the downstairs cloakroom cleared, floors fully protected, and joists exposed upstairs ready for new flooring and first-fix plumbing and electrical services.

Structural reconfigurations across the bedrooms, bathrooms, and landings are taking shape quickly, setting everything up for the next phase of the build.

Project Update: Chiltern Hills Project

We were joined on-site today by the specialist team from Stonehouse. They performed a comprehensive, water-based timber treatment across all exposed ceilings, rafters, joists, and floorboards throughout the property.

Because homes built in the early 1900s were constructed using untreated raw timbers, applying these modern preventative treatments is critical to protecting against parasites and ensuring the structural longevity of the building.

This treatment lays a solid foundation before we begin closing off the spaces and moving into the next phase of the build.

Project Update: Chiltern Hills Project

On our larger build projects, close collaboration with architects, quantity surveyors, and specialist designers is essential. Regular site progress meetings allow us to review technical drawings, ensure building regulation compliance, and keep our overall schedule running seamlessly.

Following a brief pause while awaiting updated plans, our latest meeting with HAA Architects on the Chiltern Hills Project was a great success.

With all revised drawings signed off, we are now finalising key technical details - such as underfloor heating specifications and ground levels for the rear retaining walls alongside the client's garden designer - before trades return to site.
These key check-ins give us total clarity to address adjustments, align plans with site realities, and keep everyone on the same page.
