We built a very nice Garrage with seasoned oak a month ago. It’s not the usual to build with seasoned oak ut it did end up looking very nice .
This week me and Chulainn cut the roof.
It is a fresh cut Douglas Fir roof , fully hipped with 2 scissor trusses supporting a very short ridge.
I think the finished thing is a great workout for the eyeballs.

Just raised a pretty big frame that we have just built .
It’s oak along the front and Douglas fir everywhere else. It absolutely pi**ed down on day 1 on site but today we were treated with a lovely bit of sunshine.
Rafters , glazing and cladding to come next.
Thanks to everyone that helped. 💪

Curved Braces need to follow the natural grain of the tree. Some times nature gives you an S shape . So why not use it?

We have just put up this lovely oak framed Barn for some clients that really didn’t want to settle for a steel one.
It’s great to be able to build a building that will be used as a barn for a change.
And you can’t get more local .
All timber from Cornwall and sawn right outside the workshop then erected a very short walk away.
