When it goes bang, it properly goes bang 💥

It’s not every day you come across a flashover like this.

The busbars inside two 11kV OCB switchgear cubicles have completely flashed over, quite literally melting the bolts inside them, covering everything in a thick layer of carbon and badly damaging the clusters on the Oil Circuit Breakers.

Over the next few days, the team will be replacing the damaged 11kV switchgear cubicles and Oil Circuit Breakers to get the installation back to where it needs to be.

A serious one, but exactly the type of job the team can’t wait to get stuck into 👌🏽

Another project done & dusted 👌🏽

Over 1,500 metres of SWA installed and terminated — and it definitely didn’t come without its challenges. Some seriously tricky cable pulls on this one, but as always, the team got stuck in and absolutely smashed it.

There’s no better feeling than stepping back at the end of a project and appreciating the workmanship, graft and attention to detail that goes into what we do 😍

A cracking effort from everyone involved.

Some serious miles covered by the team over the last couple of days, with Current Innovation travelling across 3 countries in 2 days 👊🏽

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been installing close to 1,500 metres of SWA, with some seriously difficult pulls along the way.

One of them being 230 metres of 50mm 5-core, pulled through ducts and routed through an entire school… definitely not one of the easier ones 😅

This week, the team arrived back on site to start terminating all of the sub mains into the LV panel.

Cable tray only a couple hundred millimetres off the ceiling, tight working space, awkward positions… you know, the usual fun.

A solid start made this week, with another 4 days on site next week to get everything finished off.

Great effort from everyone involved as always 🔋⚡️

Today marks the 5th BESS site we’ve helped take over the line and what a feeling that is 👌🏽🔋

We were brought in on this one to complete all LV live and dead testing, close out the outstanding snags, and label cables site-wide to bring everything up to compliance ready for trading.

The team all mucked in, working weekends and spending time hundreds of miles away from our families to get it done.

A cracking effort from everyone involved and another BESS project delivered.

Unfortunately, no photos were allowed on this project, so we’ve put together a collection of other BESS projects we’ve completed along the way.

Another month of being up & down the U.K delivering projects for our clients 🇬🇧

- Continuing with our 33KV IDNO Solar Farm Sub Station works
- Finally completing a project that’s been nearly a year in the making. A job that had everything… containment, A.W.A’s, triplex, major changeovers & TX swaps 😳
- LVAPing across multiple BESS sites helping push projects towards energisation
- Finally getting the Current Innovation Livery fitted on the vans 😍

A cracking month all round with the team putting in some serious work behind the scenes

After nearly a year of back & forth… we’ve finally got this one over the line 😮‍💨

And what a project it turned out to be…

⚡️ Over 2000m of 630mm, 300mm & 240mm installed & terminated (plus CPCs to match)
⚡️ 120m of ladder rack installed & bonded
⚡️ Transformer swap with the LV feeder pillar left in place 😳
⚡️ Installation of 800A & 630A isolators
⚡️ 3 major changeovers switching the entire site onto new supplies

This one tested us in every way… but the team delivered 👊🏽

A serious project with results that speak for themselves.

A first for everyone involved 😳

Most transformer changeovers come with their fair share of logistical headaches… this one was no different.

The transformer needed swapping out, but the feeder pillar had to remain in place — complete with 12 x 630mm A.W.A’s already terminated inside 😳

That meant getting our bodies into positions that definitely weren’t natural just to disconnect it from the transformer. One engineer on one spanner, another on the other, both twisted around the existing A.W.A’s trying to make it happen 🤣

It was a first for everyone involved, but the team pulled together, got stuck in, and absolutely smashed it out the park 👏🏽

300mm, 240mm, 185mm A.W.A along with 300mm, 185mm & 120mm CPC all terminated and ready for 3 changeovers taking place this week 👌🏽
