When your fire-rated windows and doors arrive on site, you need confidence that they've been fabricated correctly.

That’s why we photograph key stages throughout our fabrication process, creating a clear record of the work carried out before your products leave our factory.

It’s another layer of traceability and quality control built into the AFS process. 🤝

Fire safety isn't just about compliance. It's about protecting lives. 🔥

Fire Prevention Week is an important reminder of the role every element of a building’s fire safety strategy plays.

At AFS, we fabricate fire-rated aluminium windows and doors to tested system specifications, helping our customers meet the fire performance requirements of their projects.

Because when it comes to fire safety, getting it right matters.

It’s the details that matter. 👀

Here, Jack is cutting the glazing beads to size and punching the drainage slots as part of the fabrication process.

The drainage slots allow water to drain correctly from the system, while the glazing beads secure the glass in place.

Small details, but important ones when fabricating a fire-rated system to specification.

Ever wondered what's inside a fire-rated window? 👀🔥

Inside the aluminium profiles, either GKF board or ceramic cooling inserts are used to help prevent the spread of fire for the specified amount of time.

These work alongside the fire-rated glass and other key components to help prevent the spread of fire, smoke and radiant heat, helping protect people and save lives.

Another question we get asked all the time...

Can we have trickle vents?

No - The purpose of fire-rated windows and doors is to block heat and flames in the event of a fire.

Having a trickle vent allows smoke to pass through making the window/door non-compliant.
