Gerry McNally is a well-known East Belfast based photographer, with a particular speciality in the coverage of live music events. He is often seen both in and out of the studio taking shots of local bands and artists. p to Rathlin Island. He is also very happy to have a landscape at the end of his lens and is available for wedding and portrait photography. A wide range of stock imagery is also available for sale. In October 2010 he began working with local promoter, Jim Heaney, and henceforth became Belfast's proud and official "Real Music Club" photographer. Regular work includes covering entertainment events for local media including radio station U105, UTV Entertainment and online review site Folk & Tumble. Gerry also works regularly covering events for QCAF, including the Out to Lunch Festival and the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival. Other festival work includes Belsonic, Sunflowerfest, East Belfast Arts Festival and the Harvest Music Festival. In 2011 Gerry worked with local author Janice Donnelly and provided the cover photograph for her debut novel Buying Time. His experience is extensive and he has covered internationally established artists such as Beady Eye, Alabama 3, and The Who, to name just a few. To remain true to himself and his original roots he is regularly photographing bands and artists on the local music scene, including Anthony Toner, The Sabrejets and The Wonder Villains. The first solo exhibition of Gerry’s work was launched in Dawsons Music on Royal Avenue in Belfast in October 2012. The exhibition covered a range of concerts and festivals from 2010 until September 2012. Gerry is the Great Nephew of the renowned Irish landscape artist Sam McLarnon.
