Something new for me and my small business! As much as I like Instagram; my videos (that I seem to be doing more and more) of my journey with flower farming are getting to big to post on this platform therefore I have decided to set up a YouTube channel! I watch and follow so many amazing Flower Farmers and Florists on Youtube and I’m so inspired by what they are doing I decided want to join that gang. I love filming my days flower farming and whatever I’m doing will no doubt be different from what others are. My first post is about ‘A Day in the Life of a Flower Famer (Sept edition). It took me hours and hours to do 🙈🤭 from the day of filming to the editing and it’s far from perfect but we all gotta start somewehre right?! Pls go have a watch if you’ like to see a little bit of behind the scenes of, not only my flower farming life but also some of my personal life and the other things I’m navigating throughout the day as well as looking after thousands of plants. With all good intention I will aim to do regular video’s for my channel but this may vary in more busy times (e.g. Summer heatwaves) but I’ll try film that also as that’s important to see (and not always pretty!). Comment’s and questions v welcome! Link to my YouTube channel is in the description bit on my Insta profile and below 🙂

Anyone who flower farms or grows anything for a living knows the struggle we faced this year during the UK Summer Drought. I was looking back at photos and wanted to share some of the positives from what I grew during 2026. Overall the reward of growing these beautiful flowers (and Foliages) is what keeps me going and feeds the growing addiction 😂! Seeing so many florists use my flowers for their bouquets, wedding and funeral work and also using them myself in floristry is also the greatest reward 🙂

Anyone else find Insta has a mind of its own. Just redid this post… also why does it zoom in on the vid so@half my head is chopped off or it’s far too close ! 🙄

Anywayz. A few clips of what I’ve been up to the last couple of days !! It’s all about 2027 now. HandyNat and I had a sesh in a few of the flower beds yesterday and today I tackled pulling out some stuff in ‘Pacha’ the Poly to get the Orlaya in…
Last pic - still providing buckets of blooms to my local florists and will be sad to see that stopping in a few weeks!

What I’ve been up to the last couple of days !! It’s all about 2027 now. HandyNat and I had a sesh in a few of the flower beds yesterday and today I tackled pulling out some stuff in ‘Pacha’ the Poly to get the Orlaya in… but I can’t pull the beautiful orange Marigolds out yet. Just can’t!!

The flowers in the poly tunnel and outdoor dahlias are still really popping and I cut 20 stems of sunflowers from the last batch this morning which looked basically perfect. So.. trying to be ‘out with the old’ is difficult when the beauty is still there.

Still providing gorgeous buckets of blooms to my local florists and will be sad to see that stopping in a few weeks!

A little run through start to finish of some wedding flowers I did in August ❤️
Beautiful brights and late Summer flowers was such a perfect combination for this couple. Thank you for your help and use of the van!

It’s been a very difficult year for any type of farming!!
Managed to pull out a chunk of positivity, passion and energy to create Holly and Josh’s wedding designs. So so delighted with them!!

A little reel to show the creations start to finish. I had to buy in some of the flowers to get the bright colours they wanted, a small amount of reds & yellow from the wholesale; also some fabulous Statice, Dahlias, cosmos, yellow Yarrow and a beautiful bright orange Zinnia (see if you can spot it!) from Vicky and Stuart :)

I used mainly my own materials to create the designs: Foliage was Hedgerow, Eucalyptus, Raspberry leaf, Chick Pea, Grasses (Panicum)
Flowers - Crocosmia, Marigolds (3 varieties), Zinnias (so reliable), Dahlias, Delphiniums, Rudbeckia

The venue was stunning. Would highly recommend - a beautiful countryside location and immaculate gardens, buildings 💚💚

Thank you for your amazing assistance, second eye and efficiently with this wedding :))

Congratulations Holly and Josh ❤️❤️

Finally a post!
Lots of love & care going into my confetti prep today for wedding flowers and designs at the end of this week.

Thank goodness for the cooler weather today. The heat has been nothing short of a physical and mental battle recently and I’ve struggled in it not going to lie.

I’m looking forwards to creating some beautiful wedding designs this week and spending this weekend getting organised, making a plan, doing a stem count, washing and prepping materials and … tidying the workspace (not my fav job!)

It’s a constant battle! Flower farming currently - dealing with very challenging weather and then seemingly everything living outside trying to make it even harder. I’ve got a mouse in the tunnel (actually saw him happily eating something the other day), birds constantly in there poking at the ground (but I can tolerate this), some tiny black insect munching my Dahlia petals (no idea what it is but do not want to spray anything), and now these pointless (not v pleasant) creatures having a party in the flower beds at night (Badgers).

It’s lucky there are some good insects out there and I have to remember that; like my amazing army of ladybirds earlier this year that saved so many of my plants from aphids and other small bugs.

With the pleasure I get from growing plants/flower farming I am also well aware that there are so many barriers and challenges that come with it; I wonder how long ill be able to keep my head up. I think more poly tunnels is the answer .. but; note to self … SHUT THE DOORS ! 😵‍💫🙄😢

A couple of weeks ago the Sweet Peas told me they were on their way out. Everyone elses’ seemed to have gone too - the heat being too much for them... 5 days ago I took out the first lot of Sweet Peas and was planning on taking out the Spring sown ones later this week. But they are pulling on my heart strings and have kept going more due to the cooler mornings and evenings and if I’m honest; I don’t want to say goodbye to them! 2 years ago I swore I’d not bother growing them again - too high maintenance and last 2 days in a vase but there is something about them so beautiful and the scent is literally like nothing else. So I can’t let them go just yet!!!!

First pic - cut some tonight - for my house. They are hanging over (not straight) because I’ve neglected them the last week thinking they were gone
2nd pic - Chandos Beauty Rose and Sweet peas. Great scented combo!
3rd Pic - cutting 70 stems 3 weeks ago
4th pic - in full swing growing
5th pic - my face says it all
Last pic - when they were tiny and you never believed they’d end up what they were.. Putting up the net for them to grow up back in March/April

Mostly buy my seed from Roger Parsons Sweet Peas but I did buy a lovely variety earlier today (thinking next year already) from kimberly fleming ~ the marlston farmgirl

Will be more in 2027 here at Whitelands !!!
