🌱 Longley Plants 500 More Trees with Treeapp 🌍

Ahead of World Environment Day tomorrow, we’re proud to share that Longley has once again donated to Treeapp, enabling the planting of a further 500 trees on our behalf. This brings our total contribution to 1,000 trees planted.

🌍 Our impact so far:
🌳 1,000 trees planted (total)
💨 109 tonnes of CO₂ absorbed across the trees’ lifetime
👩🏾‍🌾 10 workdays created for local communities
🌿 6,670m² of land reforested

This project continues to champion innovative, sustainable practices:
🍌 Seedlings grown in biodegradable banana-peel bags
♻ Organic waste converted into biochar to enrich soil and store carbon
📚 Training provided to local communities and schools to support long-term forest stewardship

This initiative supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals, with Climate Action and Life on Land at its core.

And this is just the beginning — Longley will continue contributing quarterly. Keep an eye on our website as our tree counter continues to grow.

Hot weather can have a serious impact on health, safety and wellbeing — but simple steps can make a big difference. 💧☀️

At Longley, we’re encouraging everyone to:

🏗️⚽ On Monday, we welcomed 30 Year 6 pupils from St John’s Primary School for a behind-the-scenes tour and sneak preview of the brand-new pavilion currently under construction! 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

Equipped with hi-vis jackets and hard hats, the pupils explored the building room by room, asking fantastic questions and learning more about the construction process along the way. 🏠🔨

Following the tour, the children also took part in a consultation exercise on the wider recreation ground improvements, sharing their ideas and feedback with the local council about how the space can best serve the community in the future 🌳🛝⚽

It was a brilliant opportunity to engage young people with a live community project outside the classroom, while supporting meaningful local engagement through our social value commitments. Initiatives like this are an important part of ensuring our projects create lasting positive impact beyond the built environment. 💙

🎭 Project Progress Update | London Theatre RAAC Roof Replacement

Good progress continues on site as scaffold er****on advances across both the roof and auditorium areas of this important theatre refurbishment project.

This week has seen additional works completed to the roof structure, alongside the commencement of scaffold installation within the auditorium to enable access for upcoming internal works.

We also welcomed the fire alarm engineer to site to review planned isolations ahead of the next phase of the programme, while asbestos findings have now been issued to the client for review.

We’re proud to have recently completed a window and door replacement project at a secondary school in Central London 🏫✨

But for us, it’s about more than just the work we deliver. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of donating a selection of books to the school library 📚

Carefully chosen by the school librarian, the collection includes favourites like Goosebumps, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid — stories we hope will inspire, engage, and spark a love of reading among students.

As a business, we’re committed to giving back wherever we can. Creating meaningful social value and making a positive impact in the communities we work in is at the heart of what we do.
