The end of another great job, it’s been nice getting back to some timber frame repairs. Many small frame repairs, sole plate repairs, hip repaired and rebuilt, tie beams repaired and new knees added, re roofed using the original peg tiles and weatherboarding. Lime render carried out by with some help from the Fellows

and I had the pleasure of the Fellows with us for two days carrying out some timber repairs, lime plastering and seeing some of the peg tiles being relaid on the roof. It wasn't staged. Jess was just waiting to head home!! The wall section is now complete. A new sole plate section was added to properly support the corner post. The brace was repaired and steamed back in place. A new stud was installed to block a previous opening, and two stud and corner post repairs were done.

Some replacement very heavy oak match boarded garage double doors for a returning customer. It is always nice to see how your work is weathering and starting to become part of the history of these lovely old buildings.

Sorry I have been so quiet on here. It’s been a busy week both work and personal so not had much chance to post. We have been remaking some lovely oak windows as unfortunately they were too far gone to repair. The glass has been reused and ready to install on Monday.

The London door is finished and installed. Looking so much better than before. New bottom rail, panel repairs and a new weather bar.

The deck on the foredeck is now laid. I will carry on with the hatch next week and then on to the stern. The difference before and after is quite the transformation. I can’t wait for it to be caulked and varnished. It’s going to look quite something. Hope you all have a great Easter. Catch you next week.

All of the roof repairs are now finished. It’s quite the difference from when we started.
