🪴Trip to the garden centre on Lantau Island! On a mission to check out local gardening spots - Garden Plus. Nice little spot, small selection but has bigger presence online. Very friendly and helpful staff, had a tour and shown the farm next door. Lovely little area based in Pui O 👍🏻 .hk

Hong Kong Gardening - Saturday Special
Getting Typhoon ready!! 💨

It’s summertime here, super hot, humid with rainy days. Today it looks like we’re getting hit with a strong typhoon, so garden furniture away, plants tucked up, some in the garage and bathroom. We’re lucky to have a great weather warning system here that updates us, so could be something or nothing, let’s hope for just a small breeze! 🤞🏻

🏆Smashing the assignments and on my way to being a qualified Garden Designer! 🌸

This is the mood board I created for “The Briers”, gosh it took a lot of work and took months to create all the designs, working plans and technical drawings (as my nearest & dearest are well aware 😂), but got there in the end and learnt a whole bunch of new things. All worth it for a nice shiny Distinction (and just bagged a few more!)⭐️

🌸 So everyone thinks Hong Kong is a landscape of skyscrapers with no room to move…let me tell you there’s so much greenery and many beautiful beaches here! Adding a few pics around where we live in on Lantau Island, and can’t wait to show more of the beauty here in HK 🌸

🍃Saving orchids! 🍃I’ve acquired a couple of orchids that look worse for wear, and it seems like a fun thing to do here is to tie them to trees like they’re in their natural habitat. It’s very tropical here at the moment, humid, wet/sunny (the weather doesn’t know what it’s doing!). So plant rescue begins - a) remove all current plant media b) trim dead/squishy roots and leaves c) soak some moss and wrap around for moisture d) tie to tree where it’ll catch rain - felt a bit like tropical wreath making 🤣 there’s one already there so figured it was a good spot. Good luck little ones 🤞🏻🍀

I’ve been a bit quiet on here the past few months as we’ve had some big life changes - gardening has had to take a backseat as we’ve been super busy relocating to Hong Kong! Hubby has a new job and we thought we’d go with the flow and see where the adventure takes us 🇭🇰 settling into our new digs and starting again with my garden so will keep updating on the progress and beautiful greenery HK has to offer 😁🌺😁
