🏗️ Your scaffold is booked for a set period, but what happens if the building work takes longer than expected?

Our initial scaffold hire period is usually 12 weeks, giving your trades time to get the work completed. But delays happen. Bad weather, late materials or extra work can all push a project back, and sometimes the scaffold needs to stay up for longer.

If that happens, don’t panic, but don’t leave it until the day it’s due to come down either.

Let us know as soon as you realise the job is running behind. We can confirm whether the scaffold can remain in place, explain any additional hire charges and rearrange the dismantling date.

It’s also worth checking your quote before the work begins so you know:

🔹 How long the initial hire period lasts
🔹 What happens if you need it for longer
🔹 Whether additional hire charges apply
🔹 How much notice we need before dismantling

A quick conversation with us early on can prevent confusion and stop the scaffold being collected before your trades have finished using it.

⚠️ Got a scaffold pole or board in the way?

We know it can be tempting to think, “I’ll just move it slightly”, but please don’t alter any part of the scaffold yourself.

That one pole, board, guardrail or tie might not look important, but moving it could affect the stability of the scaffold or leave an unsafe gap for someone working above.

If something is blocking a doorway, window, delivery or part of the job, just give us a call. We’ll take a look and, if anything needs changing, our scaffolders can alter it safely.

No matter how quick or easy it looks, never remove boards, guardrails, ties or poles yourself.

If it’s in the way, call us, don’t move it. 👷

Dan ni’n gwybod pa mor hawdd ydy meddwl, “Mi wna i jest ei symud o ychydig”, ond peidiwch â newid na symud unrhyw ran o’r sgaffald eich hun.

Efallai nad ydy un polyn, plank, guardrail neu tie yn edrych yn bwysig, ond gall ei symud effeithio ar ba mor sefydlog ydy’r sgaffald, neu adael bwlch peryglus i rywun sy’n gweithio uwchben.

Os oes rhywbeth yn blocio drws, ffenest, delivery neu ran o’r gwaith, rhowch alwad i ni. Mi wnawn ni ddod i gael golwg, ac os oes angen newid unrhyw beth, gall ein scaffolders ni wneud hynny’n saff.

🏗️ Your builder says they need scaffolding, but what will they actually be doing from it?

It might sound like an odd question, but “scaffolding around the house” doesn’t tell us everything we need to know.

A roofer, renderer, bricklayer and solar installer can all need different working heights, platform positions and access points. We also need to know whether materials will be stored on the scaffold and if anything heavy needs to be lifted or loaded.

Getting these details before we start means the scaffold can be planned around the work being carried out, not simply the shape of the building.

That helps ensure the trades have safe, practical access to the right areas and avoids unnecessary alterations once the scaffold is already in place.

So, when we ask lots of questions about your project, we’re not being nosey, we’re making sure the scaffold works properly for the people using it. 👷

🏗️ Mae’ch builder chi’n dweud bod angen sgaffald, ond beth yn union fyddan nhw’n ei wneud oddi arno?

Efallai bod hynny’n swnio fel cwestiwn od, ond dydy dweud “sgaffald o gwmpas y tŷ” ddim yn dweud popeth sydd angen i ni ei wybod.

Mae roofer, rhywun sy’n rendro, briciwr a solar installer i gyd angen uchder, platforms a llefydd mynediad gwahanol. Mae angen i ni wybod hefyd os bydd deunyddiau’n cael eu cadw ar y sgaffald, neu os bydd angen codi unrhyw beth trwm.

Mae cael y wybodaeth yma cyn cychwyn yn golygu ein bod ni’n gallu cynllunio’r sgaffald o gwmpas y gwaith sydd angen ei wneud, nid jest o gwmpas siâp yr adeilad.

Mae hyn yn rhoi mynediad saff ac ymarferol i’r crefftwyr ac yn osgoi gorfod newid y sgaffald ar ôl iddo gael ei godi.

Felly, pan fyddwn ni’n gofyn lot o gwestiynau am eich project, dydan ni ddim yn bod yn fusneslyd, dan ni jest eisiau gwneud yn siŵr bod y sgaffald yn gweithio’n iawn i’r bobl fydd yn ei ddefnyddio. 👷

Chimney work isn’t exactly a job you want to tackle from a ladder… 😅🏠

Whether it’s repointing, repairs, leadwork or general maintenance, getting safe and practical access to the chimney makes all the difference.

This setup gives the trades a solid working platform to get up there and get the job done safely. 👷‍♂️🟢

Another one ready for work to begin from the GSG team.

A little photo dump from Caernarfon… 📸🏠

We’ve been back and forth to this new build development as the work continues and the site starts to take shape.

That’s the thing with new builds, the scaffolding has to move with the project. As one stage finishes, the next begins, and the access needs change along the way. 👷‍♂️

Plenty happening on this one, and plenty more still to come.

Not our usual school run… 😂🏫

The GSG team have been over at Ysgol Gynradd Kingsland in Holyhead, getting the scaffold up and the building ready for work to begin.

And when you’re working on a school, there’s a little more to think about than just getting from A to B. A busy site, a big building and plenty of access needed meant a decent setup was required for this one. 👷‍♂️

All up, all sorted, and another North Wales site ready to crack on. 🟢

Another one up and ready to go 👷‍♂️🟢

This scaffold has been erected at Canolfan Cefnfaes, Bethesda, providing safe access across the building for the works being carried out.

📏 9m long x ⬆️ 4 lifts

A decent-sized setup with plenty of working access where it’s needed.

Another job keeping the Green Scaffolding Group team busy across North Wales. 💚

Ever wondered why we tag our scaffolding? 👀🏷️

That little tag is there for a pretty important reason.

It helps show that the scaffold has been inspected and is safe to use, as well as recording important information like when the inspection took place and what the scaffold is designed to be used for.

It might only be a small tag, but it’s a big part of making sure everyone using the scaffold can work safely. 👷‍♂️🟢

Erioed wedi meddwl pam ’da ni’n rhoi tag ar ein sgaffaldiau? 👀🏷️

Mae’r tag bach yna yno am reswm pwysig iawn.

Mae’n dangos bod y sgaffaldiau wedi cael eu harchwilio a’u bod nhw’n saff i’w defnyddio. Mae hefyd yn cadw gwybodaeth bwysig, fel pryd gafodd yr archwiliad ei wneud a beth mae’r sgaffaldiau wedi cael eu codi ar ei gyfer.

Ever seen a roof saddle scaffold? 👀🏠

Not every scaffold can be built straight up from the ground. Sometimes the shape of the property means a slightly different approach is needed.

This roof saddle has been built over the existing roof to create safe access to an area that would otherwise be pretty difficult to reach. 👷‍♂️

It’s a good example of the problem solving that goes into scaffolding, working with the building to create a safe, practical setup for the job.

Mae’r roof saddle yma wedi’i adeiladu dros y to i greu mynediad saff i le fyddai’n anodd iawn ei gyrraedd fel arall. 👷‍♂️

Mae’n enghraifft dda o’r meddwl sy’n mynd i mewn i waith sgaffaldiau, gan weithio o gwmpas yr adeilad i greu setup saff ac ymarferol ar gyfer y job.
