Prepping for an autumn wreath making session.

Going to make door wreaths with my favourite group of people at

Taking apart garlands and large stems, cutting them down, reinforcing with wire and floral tape if needed.
Its important to make the components easy to handle, easy to place in the foam and most importantly make sure there's enough colour and cute stuff to go around everyone, or i will be in trouble!

Sometimes you have to take a break from life, to get out sassed by a highland cow!

I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip to Colready Highlands.

The kids loved it, the adults loved it and the Highland cows loved it.... well most of them...

πŸ‚ Hello October! πŸ‚

A new month, changing colours, darker evenings and lots of cosy things ahead. 🍁
Here at Flower Patch 🌻, we're slowly heading towards Christmas wreath season... but first, let's enjoy October and the colour palate nature provides. πŸ‚

What are you looking forward to this month? ❀️

Brain is fried, up to my eyeballs in things that need to be done and my ADHD brain thinks let's go have bash on the keyboard 🀣🀣

Bit of an oldie and im sure the technique is well off but it kept me out of trouble for an hour.

Also if anyone knows what a ketboard is? Thanks autocorrect for not picking that up and making me an illiterate monkey!

BTW.. nails are courtesy of the gorgeous Sophie Ellen, check her out on socials - lovely home set up, easy to chat to, beautiful pooch as an added bonus for all the dog lovers πŸ₯°

After an utterly appalling day yesterday, finding my boy in the craft room getting the stud wall started was the pick me up I needed πŸ₯°

I think we've got the wood covered now but anyone with insulation hiding in the garage can be met with a cuppa and a smile xx

I'm not just on the scrounge for materials. Likes, follows and shares are greatfully received too ...

Its time to tackle the back room and make it a functional space again.

This will be my craft room and base for Flower Patch... Hopefully giving me the space I need for everything I have in mind for the future Flower Patch 🌻

Watch this Space!!

P.s. if anyone has plasterboard sitting in the garage that they can donate, I would be very greatfful xx

August is the month to harvest lavender.

Im very lucky that my neighbour has the most perfect lavender frontage to her house, watching the bees swarm round in summer is so beautiful 😍

Then... with the flowers spent, I cut it all back, dry it and process it for making lavender wreaths and scent bags

The long stems can be used to thicken out the wreath base, and still smell amazing without the flower heads.
The flower heads are cut to about hand length and bundled into groups of approx 15, or until they look nice and full. Any loose buds are then collected up in a jar for later.

drying and processing the lavender is a time consuming process, but I love having the little bundles ready to attach to the wreath, they give a really full looking wreath.

For the full tutorial search lavender wreath on you tube. I love their tutorials 😍

The cut flower garden is getting some legs...

I still have a fair few pots about that could do with being in the ground but this heatwave is just not the time for it.

Never mind what the flowers think... the heat zaps the life out of me with all my ailments.

Growing my own cut flower garden is not easy when you have a complete inability to be consistent.

Despite killing goodness knows how many seedlings, I do have some beautiful flowers on the go and the garden smells amazing. The jasmine, honeysuckle, lavender and sweet peas are just awesome!!
