An unusual one today!

A series of break ins and people rough sleeping in a communal area for a well known bus company led to a locksmith being called out to secure until new doors could be installed next week

Unfortunately the temporary securing done by the other locksmith was highly dangerous as this door was shared by a flat of 5 students who could have been trapped within the building if there was a fire etc. 😬

(The hasp and staple/padlock were removed/disabled before I arrived)

I attended and repaired the frame that was missing from previous access control/electric release, installed a new hook lock and thumb turn cylinder for easy access and cut enough keys for all staff and tenants 🔑

The repair is a best of a bad situation, I could have done further work on it but with the doors being replaced the following week (due to structural issues in the frame, broken door closers/transom/mag lock and a lot of wear and tear), in order to save the customer some money a temporary repair was made and I think we can agree it looks a lot better, especially with the knowledge there’ll be no lightly toasted students trapped inside! 🔥🔥🔥 (but seriously, fire safety is no joke)

This safe dial wasn’t in use and was accidentally knocked which led to a bent key, when staff tried to open the usual way the lock wouldn’t turn!
Combination lock scoped and decoded and faulty lock drilled out as customer had already decided it was time for a new safe anyway!

Don’t forget, we cover all residential and commercial jobs around the north east for both locks and safes!

This is employee of the week, Pablo!

This handsome guy was a fantastic helper yesterday whilst picking open this porch door after his owners were on holiday and forgot to leave the key for his grandma! 🔐

🔑We cover the whole of the north east for residential and commercial properties and are ALWAYS excited to have helpers like this little guy!🔑
