Museum find, 👨🏽‍🔧
Galvanised water main I removed today after around 70 years service
Can still see the boss white and h**p plus a coin from 1971 capping the outlet of pipe work fitted in the late 50s
Got to admire the ingenuity of these old school plumbers and the time it must have taken to manually thread all this and clip it with flat head screwdriver 👊🏽

⚠️Worrying discovery of a 1" Gas main riser in an apartment block on an annual boiler service which had been leaking on a new build since the property was built 9 years ago !!!

A Dry threaded joint was leaking in the cavity and despite the customer having 2 calls outs previously it was not found .

I used the gas sniffer to sniff out the leak then remove / repair.
Customer can sleep easy now

🎉5th Birthday -Lucas Gas is 5 years old this week!🥳
I set up the company during lockdown while furloughed and waited to get made redundant before I went at it .
Strange timing but gave me the kick I needed to shake the fear and go out alone .

It's not always plain sailing running a small business but looking back it's been a good first 5 years .
Big thanks to all of my loyal customers who have made it all possible 😊
One day I'm hoping it's Lucas Gas and sons in the future as the boys love it too and I can let them do the heavy work 😁

⚠️CARBON MONOXIDE AWARENESS ⚠️☠️

Found this flue on a functioning boiler which had not been serviced in a few years.

At first glance boiler is white and shiny

The flue gases and condensation were leaking into the cavity wall and the Ideal Mexico boiler carried on running despite the air gas mixture being well out.
This had potential to be life threatening. Any visible damage on a boiler flue or broken terminals is classed as at risk.
Even an untrained eye can look out for signs of rust or corrosion.
During a boiler service specialist calibrated analysers detect these issues with emissions.
My Rasi flue analyser is Super precise and reliable 👌🏾
