One for the wildlife lovers.

Our 70th Anniversary Grand Raffle includes a Pensthorpe Day Pass for Four.

And that is a particularly fitting raffle prize.

The Broads Society exists because places rich in wildlife, landscape and history don't look after themselves. They need people to notice them, understand them, speak up for them and support the work that keeps them special.

So this is a chance to win a good day out — while helping another landscape you care about.

Tickets cost £5 for a strip of five, with every ticket raising funds for the Broads Society.

There’s something about the Broads at the end of August.

The waterways are still busy. Boats are still making their way along the rivers, people are walking and cycling the paths, binoculars are being raised at the slightest movement in the reeds, and there’s every chance of convincing ourselves that summer has plenty of life left in it.

But look a little more closely and the season is beginning to shift.

The evenings are drawing in. The light is lower. Reeds that were fresh green in June are beginning to take on warmer tones. Swallows and house martins are gathering before their journeys south.

It’s one of our favourite times to be out in the Broads — still summer, but with the first hints of autumn around the edges.

And there are so many ways to enjoy it.

Sailing or cruising. Walking or cycling. Fishing or birdwatching. Exploring somewhere new or returning to the same favourite spot you’ve known for years. Or simply finding somewhere beside the water and watching the world go by.

At the Broads Society, we believe the Broads are for everyone.

No one way of enjoying this extraordinary place matters more simply because it is different from somebody else’s.

What matters is that we share it thoughtfully: slowing down when we need to, giving wildlife space, respecting other people on the water and on land, taking our litter home and remembering that our enjoyment of the Broads comes with a responsibility to care for them too.

Because the more people who know and love the Broads, the more people there are to stand up for their future.

One of the prizes in our 70th Anniversary Grand Raffle is a Flint Vineyard Tour & Tasting for Two — a chance to discover one of our region's vineyards and, naturally, sample the results.

We are delighted to reveal another of the wonderful prizes in our 70th Anniversary Grand Raffle – "Marshland Golden Light", a framed Fine Art Limited Edition Print by internationally acclaimed Norfolk artist Nial Adams Artist
But this isn't just any print from the edition.

✨ This is Print Number 1 of just 75.

Created from Nial's original oil painting, "Marshland Golden Light" has been Giclée printed on Ilford paper, hand signed and labelled by the artist, and comes beautifully framed and ready to hang.

Number 1 has, until now, been held by Nial himself – making this a particularly rare opportunity to own the very first print from this limited edition.

Known for his atmospheric landscapes and glowing sunsets, Nial works from his studio in Hevingham, North Norfolk, and his work is held by clients and collectors around the world.

The Broads also hold a very special place in Nial's heart, which makes his decision to donate such a special piece to help us celebrate the Broads Society's 70th Anniversary all the more meaningful.

Five locally produced gins. A first-class dining carriage. Steam-hauled journeys through North Norfolk. And, because apparently gin wasn't quite enough, there's gin-infused cheesecake too.

One of the prizes in the Broads Society's 70th Anniversary Grand Raffle is a North Norfolk Railway PLC Gin Train Experience for Two.

The evening begins with a long gin drink on arrival before you settle into the dining carriage for two return journeys between Sheringham and Holt. Along the way there are specially selected local gins to sample, accompanied by a mezze board of cold meats and cheeses and that rather intriguing gin-infused cheesecake.

A wonderfully Norfolk experience — and one that could be yours for a £5 raffle ticket.
