Aberdeen City Ladies 1 v 5 Elgin Women
Our Ladies started off their pre-season fixtures hosing Elgin, who, following back to back promotions are now playing in the Championship.
With our squad quite stretched with a number of players away on holiday it gave us the opportunity to get a lot of minutes in the legs for players available.
The game started at a fast pace with Elgin creating some chances and ourselves moving the ball well but not creating many clear cut chances. Elgin got a couple of goals that we should have defended better to go in 2-0 up at halftime.
We started the second half well and got a goal back after some excellent work by Emma A who played in Ava A who slotted past the keeper to make it 2-1.
Unfortunately we couldn’t get a second to level the score and Elgin finished the game well to score 3 more and win 5-1.
All in, an excellent test for our team against a good side who have done exceptionally well rising up the leagues since we last played them. Thanks to Elgin for coming through for the game and good luck in the Championship.
