Hopkinstown FC 2 - 4 Bargoed YMCA Blue

The lads faced a tough semi-final test on Saturday morning against a physical Hopkinstown outfit who currently sit fourth in the “Rhymney” division of the TERV leagues with just a few games to play. The game started out pretty evenly, however, it was the home side who crafted the opening goal. No more than 10 mins later, Elis McCarthy looped one over the keeper to make it 1-1 (1-1 HT). The 2nd half kicked off and Bargoed came out all guns blazing, 2 quick goals (Cai & Elis) really put us in the driving seat. Captain Jenks then scored an absolute pearler to make it 4-1 before Hopkinstown pulled one back in the dying embers, nothing more than a consolation… 4-2 winners & a deserved cup final outing for the players, coaches & parents to look forward sometime soon (DATE TBC!!!)
