Another part of our recent work in Teseguite, Lanzarote.

This exterior tiled area required additional protection against water ingress, so rather than simply covering the existing surface, the area was properly prepared before applying a new base and waterproofing system.

The process included careful preparation of the surface, application of the base and incorporation of reinforcement mesh before the waterproofing layers were completed.

Taking the time to prepare the surface correctly is an important part of achieving a durable, long-lasting result, particularly when protecting exterior areas exposed to the Lanzarote climate.

When humidity is coming from outside a property, treating the inside walls alone may not address the source of the problem.

For this project, the affected area was excavated along the exterior wall before the walls were properly waterproofed. A layer of rocks was then used to help with drainage, with the area built back up and finished to provide a clean and practical result.

The aim is to help manage moisture around the exterior of the property and provide additional protection against water reaching the walls.
