guess what, here’s my personal smiley face on your feed to a) announce that my art drop is live and b) share that i sold some of ‘m to my mail buddies last night and that made me very happy and grateful 🎈. i made many lemon paintings apparently, like this Granada inspired one i’m smizing up in the pic, one of my personal faves that is still available.

mañana mañana is the moment i’ll be sharing these originals on paper (and more), and i’m so excited to send some colour around!

faces, fish, flowers and many (many!) lemons 🍋; all these works (mostly A5, some A4) have been painted over the course of the last 10 months. some as part of a 30-day-challenge, some part of my mail club Postart, but all made with luuuuv and acrylic paint (a classic combination).

i couldn’t think of a good song to accompany this video, so went with an obvious choice: David Hockney spitting facts on living a creative life.

these bee-eaters (the two in yellow i painted for my sweet pen pals in my mail club) will be up for grabs this thursday, along with 20+ other original works on paper. its a soft launch; i’m not really sure what that means but if it means that i’m thoroughly underprepared and keep watching Hockney on youtube instead of doing marketing, then a soft launch it is.

art drop alert!

seven tiny days until all these original lemons, faces, fishies, flowers and landscapes are released into the wild, maybe into the wild of your home in need of colour. how many works, you ask? great question that i cannot answer with certainty JUST YET.

what is ALSO coming up, is a release of postcards (not yet next week though). if there’s any specific postcard you’d like to see in tha sh☼p, please let me know, and i’ll see what I can do 🩷🩷🩷.

for now, the important date to remember if you’re eyeballing one of these bad boys is June 18th. 20+ originals on paper, including some Postart Originals.

‘cause they are much fittah

You can take the millennial out of Kate Nash, but can you ever really take Kate Nash out of the millennial? Food for thought.

Anyway, slow living, fast painting - that’s my new motto. Ain’t nobody got time to think and overthink, by the time I’ve decided a painting is finished I’m already half way through the next painting.

Spent a fabulous week with these lemons, excited to be working on a cow now, can’t wait to find out what we’re doing next week. This creative life is full of surprises, would recommend surprising yourself every now and then.

god, i love analog

hallo, welcome to my new profile picture, shot by the amazing on our outing in Monachil, Granada.

Me loving these pics is fourfold:
1. Analog. A great reminder of what i’d like more of in my life;
2. My hand (very grateful for both of them) is wearing the ring my grandpa gifted my grandma on their 50th anniversary, which is cute and I like thinking about this;
3. The photos look so Granada to me, and I’m just happy be there;
4. I look very cool.

this fella has been greeting me in my studio on the daily, and it makes me so happy ‘cause I had such a good time painting him. he’s just a little guy. celebrating his existence with this photoshoot so you can observe his details, because on my viral video (ha ha) it’s hard to zoom in on the actual art, isn’t it?

I finish about 3.7% of aaaalll the projects I start, so as a challenge, this painting had to be done in ONE afternoon. Rules make your creativity pop, it has been proven once again.

Another rule was to be quick (ok, kinda the same rule), because I want to loosen up and find some truth. More intuition, less thinky thinky. So intuitively, I ended up adding text, and it’s great to know that my deep dark truth is that this pigeon is god’s favourite little wonker. Glad we got that out.

Either way, 🐦 dope afternoon hanging out with this guy, ready to paint loose some more & trick myself with rules.

For 5e a month + stamp you can become a pen pal too 🎈

A Spanish still life, classic, with some red carnations, a hint of ceramics, a few olives on the loose and a swallow that’s been to Nigeria, the West Sahara, the Ivory Coast, and/or beyond. Original painting will be up for grabs at my next update on astri verdi dot com.

So yea, you’re watching my hands do Postart here. Every first of the month I send my colourful envelopes out into the woooorld, and this is what I made for my fam in March. I am aware that today is May and hypothetically I could’ve posted this video sooner, but sometimes one is just too damn busy livin’ life, y’know.

Good news is that Postart goes on NO MATTER WHAT, gotta spread the art, and subscriptions are open for June as we speak. Would luv to welcome you, but no biggie if you too are very busy living life.
