Some people say vision is the most important sense an architect must develop. We believe hearing is even more important. We don't draw a line until we've had the chance to listen to what you want, how you plan to use your space, what your dreams are. You tell us what you want to achieve. We ask questions. You ask questions. We take notes. After collecting information about the site, we sketch some
ideas that fit the site and your building needs. Then we review the sketches with you and walk you through the plans, explaining our reasoning. Using your feedback, we further refine the design until we develop construction documents. Ideally, you'll feel part of a fun, interesting design process. We normally approach a design by establishing a budget, a building program and your priorities. As the preliminary design progresses, we are constantly reevaluating costs. The construction and building documents include alternatives that allow clients to make informed decisions. We think a successful project is one that the client can use and afford. We can either work with a general contractor you have selected or we can prepare the construction documents for bidding and help you with that process. When contractors submit their bids, we work with you and the selected contractor to negotiate any final issues. Construction documents are modified to reflect any changes. Then, let the construction begin!
