To promote a diverse, sustainable and organic local food system for Paphos in particular and Cyprus in general. Vision and Aims:
To promote a sustainable organic food system in Paphos by establishing communal food gardens as well as allotments and providing food and garden education programs, creating networking opportunities in the local food system, and increasing availability of locally
grown food for all people in Paphos, thereby providing a practical solution for preventing hunger and poor nutrition for everyone in our community. Values
We believe in a strong local economy for Paphos and that a strong local food system is essential to building that economy. We believe that food systems should be sustainable and organic in order to protect our health and our environment and therefore we strongly promote permaculture principles in our gardening practices. About Us:
FEED THE PEOPLE is a local nonprofit dedicated to creating a fair and sustainable food system for everyone in our community, as well as participating in a nationwide grassroots effort to build a movement for sustainable food gardening in Cyprus while supporting worldwide efforts to the same goal. We want to connect with our communities to show them we can all be connected to a sustainable and fair food system that is affordable to all. Our food system right now is harmful to the environment and our health, and that’s because we have lost that connection to our food. We want to re-establish this connection.
