SMIC reported a strong second quarter as demand linked to AI continued to support semiconductor manufacturing. Revenue reached $3.01 billion, up 36.1% from a year earlier, while profit attributable to shareholders more than tripled to $479.2 million and capacity utilisation reached 93.7%.
The company now plans to adjust how existing capacity is allocated and accelerate the qualification of newly added capacity to help relieve supply constraints. This makes the next phase not only a capacity story, but also an engineering and production-readiness challenge.
Every additional fab capacity increment depends on tightly controlled operating conditions. Cleanrooms, HVAC and filtration, contamination monitoring, ultrapure utilities, process exhaust and automated facility systems all support equipment qualification, process consistency and stable production as utilisation rises.
Asia-Pacific Cleanroom Expo 2026 brings these supporting technologies together across cleanroom engineering, contamination control, environmental monitoring and critical facility equipment, providing a platform to explore the infrastructure behind the next wave of semiconductor capacity expansion.
