Not finished. Not even close. But I already like how it looks.

There's something about a steel building at this stage that I really enjoy.

No walls yet. No roofing sheets. Just an open steel frame standing against the sky.

You can see straight through the building, from one end to the other.

The ground is still messy, there are materials waiting to be installed, and the construction team still has plenty of work ahead.

But the shape is already there.

I sometimes think this is one of the most interesting stages of construction.

Once everything is covered, most people will only see the finished building.

Right now, we get to see the structure that makes it possible.

And for someone who works with steel structures every day, that's a pretty good view.

Still a long way to go. Looking forward to seeing the finished building!

Before building bigger, have you considered using the space you already have?

I was looking at this steel structure project today, and one detail caught my attention β€” the elevated floor taking shape inside the building.

While the steel frame is still exposed, workers are installing the metal floor decking, and you can clearly see how the upper and lower spaces are being formed.

It reminds me of something we often discuss with clients.

When planning a factory, warehouse, or commercial building, the first question shouldn't always be how much land is available.

It's also worth asking how that space will actually be used.

An additional floor can create room for offices, storage, or other functions without necessarily increasing the building's footprint.

Of course, it isn't suitable for every project. Floor loads, column layout, access, equipment requirements, and construction costs all need to be considered from the beginning.

But that's exactly why I enjoy looking at projects during construction.

Before the walls go up and the building is finished, you can see the thinking behind its structure.

Sometimes, making better use of space matters more than simply building more space.

A steel beam may look simple. Until you see everything that goes into making it.

Today, I walked through our fabrication workshop and filmed a few ordinary moments from our daily production.

Steel cutting, welding, fitting, drilling, and rows of structural steel members waiting for their next process.

What always catches my attention isn't just the size of the beams or the machines working around them.

It's the details.

A connection plate positioned at the right location. A stiffener welded where it's needed. Bolt holes that must align with another component when the structure is assembled.

These details may seem small inside a large workshop.

But imagine that same steel beam arriving at a construction site thousands of kilometers away.

The local installation team needs to understand where it belongs, how it connects, and how it fits with the surrounding structure.

That's why fabrication is about much more than cutting and welding steel.

It's about turning engineering drawings into components that can be assembled on site.

I believe a good workshop should always think beyond its own doors.

Because the real test of our work doesn't end in the factory. It continues when the steel reaches the construction site.

There is a special moment in every steel building project.
It is the moment when a drawing is no longer just a drawing.
After months of planning, engineering and fabrication, the structure finally begins to appear on site.
The lines that once existed only on paper are now standing in front of us.
The workshop space.
The production area.
The future working environment.
Everything starts to become real.
For engineers, this stage is not only about installing steel members.
It is about seeing an idea transform into a place that people will use for many years.
A building is not created when the first steel column is lifted.
It is created when someone has a need, an idea, and a plan to make it happen.
And this is the moment when that plan begins to take shape.

The steel has arrived in DR Congo. But our job doesn't end with delivery. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡©

Watching this container being opened at our customer's project site in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is always a satisfying moment for me.

After engineering, fabrication, careful loading and a long journey overseas, the steel components have finally reached their destination.

But I've always believed that shipping is only one part of delivering a steel structure project.

The real question is: what happens after the container arrives?

Before shipment, we prepare detailed fabrication and installation drawings, identify the steel components, and organize the loading according to the project's requirements.

Once the materials arrive, the next steps are just as important.

The site team needs to unload and check the components against the packing list, organize them according to the er****on sequence, and verify the foundations and anchor bolt positions before installation begins.

Then, following the er****on drawings and construction plan, the steel columns, beams, bracing and secondary members can be assembled step by step.

And throughout this process, we remain available to provide technical guidance and installation support.

For overseas projects, especially when local construction teams are responsible for er****on, clear drawings, component identification and good communication can make a real difference.

I often say that we should try to solve more problems in our factory, so our customers face fewer problems on site.

For us, delivery is not the finish line.

The real satisfaction comes when those individual steel components finally become the building our customer planned.

From our factory in China to the construction site in DR Congo β€” the journey continues.

What happens when a steel building is already finished, but the roof needs to be higher?

This video shows an interesting steel structure renovation project β€” raising an existing roof structure.

At first glance, it may look like a simple lifting operation.

But from an engineering perspective, it's much more complicated than that.

Before lifting begins, engineers need to assess the existing structure, check the columns, beams, connections and foundations, and develop a safe lifting and temporary support plan.

During the operation, the lifting points must be carefully coordinated. Uneven movement can introduce additional forces and deformation into the existing steel frame.

And once the roof reaches its new elevation, the permanent supporting structure and connections must be completed and verified before the temporary lifting system is removed.

Watching projects like this always reminds me of something important.

Good steel structure design should consider not only what a building needs today, but also how it may be used tomorrow.

Will the owner need more clear height for equipment?

Could future production require an overhead crane?

Might the building need expansion, additional loads or a different internal layout?

We cannot predict every future change, and it isn't always economical to design for every possible scenario.

But asking the right questions before construction can help avoid unnecessary difficulties later.

I believe this is one of the most valuable parts of our work in the steel structure industry.

We don't just need to understand how to build a structure. We need to understand how people will use it β€” today and in the years ahead.

A steel frame gives a building its structure. But what turns that open frame into an enclosed space?

Today, I want to share another stage of steel building construction β€” exterior wall cladding installation.

In this video, our attention is on the workers installing wall panels along the steel frame, with aerial work platforms providing access to the higher sections.

At first glance, it may look like a simple job: lift a panel, position it, and secure it.

But there's more behind the process.

The wall panels need to be properly aligned and fixed to the supporting steel members. Panel overlaps, fastener positions, joints and edge details all play a role in the performance of the finished wall system.

A properly designed and installed cladding system helps protect the building from wind and rain, while completing its external appearance.

And because much of this work happens at height, the installation team must also coordinate access equipment, panel handling and safe working procedures.

I always enjoy watching this stage of a project.

The steel frame is already standing, but with every new panel installed, the building begins to look more and more like the finished space we imagined.

The steel frame creates the structure.
The wall cladding completes the enclosure.

Different systems, working together to make one complete building.

When people think of steel structures, many still think of factories and warehouses.

But that picture is changing.

More commercial projects are considering steel framing for offices, retail spaces, showrooms and other multi-story buildings.

This project is a good example β€” a two-story steel frame gradually taking shape.

Columns define the vertical structure. Beams connect the frame and support the upper floor, while the complete structural system creates the space that will later become a finished commercial building.

For commercial projects, steel can offer some interesting possibilities.

Longer spans can help create more open interior spaces. Prefabricated members can reduce part of the work that needs to be completed on site. And when the building layout changes, a steel framing system can often provide useful flexibility for future planning.

Of course, there is no single structure that is right for every building.

The important question is always the same:

What does this building need to do?

Once we understand that, we can decide what structural solution makes sense.

For me, that's also what makes steel interesting.

It's no longer just building factories.
It's creating spaces where people work, shop and do business.

This is where steel components begin to become a building.

On the ground, they are individual columns, beams and connections.

Once er****on begins, everything starts to come together.

The crane lifts each member into position, while the installation team guides, aligns and connects it to the structure already standing.

It may look like a simple process β€” lift, position, connect.

But on site, every movement requires coordination.

The crane operator, signalman and er****on crew all have their own roles, and the er****on sequence matters just as much as getting each member into the right position.

For me, this is always one of the most satisfying stages of a steel structure project.

You can actually watch the building grow.

One lift.
One connection.
One bay at a time.

Until the steel that once left our factory as individual components finally stands together as a complete structure.

Before the walls go up, you can see what really holds a building together.
This is one of my favorite stages of a steel structure project.
No wall cladding. No decoration. Almost everything is still exposed.
Columns rise from the foundations, beams connect one level to another, and each connection gradually turns individual steel members into a complete structural frame.
Looking at the building at this stage also makes one thing very clear:
A steel structure is never just a collection of big columns and beams.
Every member has its position.
Every connection has its purpose.
And every level has to work together as part of the whole structure.
Soon, much of this steel will be covered by roofing, wall systems and other building components.
But right now, we can still see the skeleton of the building exactly as it was built.
For me, there is something satisfying about this stage.
Before a building gets its appearance, it first needs a strong skeleton.
