The most dangerous enemy of a solar system is not old age. It’s a thunderstorm.

Every rainy season reminds solar installers of one thing. Rain alone is rarely the problem. Thunder and lightning are.

A single thunderstorm has the potential to damage almost any part of a solar system. Solar panels, batteries, breakers, charge controllers, and most especially the inverter can all become victims.

This is why professional installers go the extra mile to protect every installation. We install lightning arresters, surge protective devices, proper earthing systems, fuses, and circuit breakers. These devices play a vital role in reducing damage caused by voltage surges and indirect lightning strikes.

But there is one truth many people do not know.

No protective device is designed to guarantee survival against a direct lightning strike. A direct strike carries enormous energy, enough to overwhelm protective devices and reach sensitive components like the inverter, the battery’s BMS, and other electronics.

*What is the biggest hiding cost in solar system?*

Well it may not be the solar panels nor the battery but it's the cost you don't see in the first quote installation is one depending on your home you may need extra wiring like mounting, protective devices or the electrical work .

Then there are cost for permit , upgrade or making an exting electrical system compatible with the new equipment .
And here's one thing that people often forget is choosing the wrong system .

A cheap system that doesn’t matches your actual loads may need upgrade sooner than expected costing you more in the long run .

That's why I don't recommend comparing solar system by equipment price alone first i look at complete installation cost and what you may need to add later .

So before choosing a quote ask the installer this one simple question what's included and what's not? This question alone can save you from some very expensive surprises.

Hey have you been wondering why does an MPPT charged controller generate more energy than a traditional controller?

Well the answer is not that you solar panels becomes more powerful but it's that the controller uses the available power more efficiently
That means solar panels don't produce thesame voltage and current all day . Sunlight, temperature and shading constantly change thier output . That means the panels maximum power point is always moving .

An MPPT controller continuously tracks the maximum power point and adjust its operating voltage in real time . This allows the solar panels to stay close to thier highest possible power output even as conditions change .

A traditional PWM controllers can't do that it simply matches the panels voltage to the battery voltage leaving some of the available solar energy unused .

So that's why MPPT controller is not creating extra energy it's instead helping your solar panels to capture more of the energy your panels are already capable of producing.
